Riots in London

I was surprised to hear that the first looter has already been sentenced. I was shocked at how quickly the wheels of justice were turning. I was actually kinda hopeful that the looters who had already entered guilty pleas would receive reasonably severe sentences, to serve as an example to others.
Then, I learned that the looter sentenced (apparently a 19 year old student) had received a jail sentence of…1 day. And had already been released as he had been in custody over night.
So, no examples to other looters then.
Sometimes wonder why my lot bother

Well I, for one, and I'm sure many others appreciate your efforts

Interesting.....a few months ago we would be saying how heavy handed the po po were, and demanding action from the officer.

A p1ss weak government, a police force with its hands tied behind its back and a judiciary that seem to enjoy finding ways to hand out more and more lenient sentencing.
No wonder the lawless sh1thole we call the UK is descending into utter anarchy!

What is an appropriate response to stealing, destruction, intimidation and sportswear ? well in a lot of countries you get shot on site or tried, convicted and sentenced to death, funnily enough they have little in the way of this kind of behaviour, not advocating that here but there needs to be some tough justice, there needs to be some downside to destroying someones life and burning stuff, ok violence has no place in civilised society but this aint civilised society in case anyone hasnt noticed.
**** them until they scream for their mummies, dont drag it out through the courts, sort it out here and then, send them on their way with a few impressive bruises which will dissapear but the memory will not and it may make then think next time, perhaps a dab of CS gas behind the ears to finish the job, am assuming that though they are not clever that if a 3 month old Dog can get the idea not to chew the chair legs via a little Tabasco applied and a tap with the Newspaper then a 14 year old human, even of low IQ can get it,
distressing experience = dont do it again
wheras lots of attention and no real punishment = current situation
I am not sure we need more Police, just the ones we have need to be able to operate without their hands tied, they also need to be sure that if they abuse that power then they are subject to the same laws and will be prosecuted.

Looks a bit tense in birmingham. Just watching the father of one of the murdered asian lads speak live on sky news pleading for people to stay off the streets tonight... Almost kicked off live on air by the sounds of the shouting after. Saw that reporter guy (now world famous) from sangat tv and switched over to that (847 if you don't know) bloke is quite amusing, worth a watch.. Think he's after an oscar.. Almost in tears with his immotive speaches, then he's smiling 2 secs later.
Anyone See the 2 guys there moving on some of the annoying kids that kept wandering in front of the camera to be pratts?
I was actually hoping things might calm down tonight but got a nasty feeling now.

Thought this was quite touching from the father:
"I don't blame the government, I don't blame the police, I don't blame nobody. It was his destiny and his fate, and now he's gone."
Reminded of Kipling's If

None of this can be assosiated with any single ethnic or class group as it was perpetrated by a wide spectrum of society. One was a 31 year old primary school teacher! The liberal attitude to discipline and punishment has bred a society of no moral standards. Too many are informed of their rights but not their responsibilities!
Nice to see the councils have already declared that any council tenant convicted will be evicted. Manchester council have gone one better and stated that any child of a council tenant then that family will be evicted. It's high time parental responsibility was taken seriously.
What was good to witness was the decent youngsters and adults volunteering to get stuck in cleaning up after the damage.

Lets be honest. Most of us see crime happening far too often. If we see it, so do the police.
Take a walk down most poor areas. You'll be offered every drug under the sun within 10 minutes. Ever been a victim of online fraud? Courts wont do anything, police wont do anything, no one does anything. Car gets nicked, you report it but **** all happens unless its stumbled upon by chance.
And these little morons ripping up the streets at the moment. Do we really think anything substantial is gonna happen to them? Doubtful to say the least.
Yet the honest hard working average Joe Bloggs works 9-5 for 50 years, bearly earns enough to buy a house and have a week or two in the sun once a year. Then after 50 years service you get a wrist watch or clock and a thank you. You retire and cant afford to heat your home and then when your I'll or get to an age where you need some support they take your house off you to pay for it.
This country makes a mug out of honest decent people and cares more about a criminals human rights than any victims.
These people doing this nonsense are scum, no doubt, but in a country where things are so fecked up for the honest and decent and minimal if any comebacks for committing crime, is it really such a surprise.
Sadly not to me. No wonder so many people emigrate these days. The UK is becoming one major S**T hole.
Just my opinion of course

Did you hear some of these clowns being interviewed on the punishment subject? Interviewer said something along the lines of "why are you doing this?" **** replies "coz I can, d'ya get me innit" and interviewer said "what about when the police catch up with you?" to which he replied "don't care, they won't do anything. Maybe I'll ge an asbo, big deal I can take that"
They know they'll get fek all in the way of meaningful punishment. They've already jailed some of the clowns, few weeks in prison. Great!
Bit like the ***** that drive around without insurance and get pulled and given a driving ban on a licence they don't even have! Doesn't effect them at all, they buy another ****ter and carry on regardless.
The only real people who get shafted in is country are people like you and I.
Maybe the good, honest, tax paying, hard working folk should be the ones demonstrating on the streets.

Cant the do gooders get it straight that the reason this is happening is that they arent scared of the Police, the judicial system or any authority, the Police have been made toothless and this is what happens, these scum dont understand anythign else, they dont know what they are doing, they dont have the brains to articulate it and if they could its still a load of half baked horse **** to try and cover their actions but they do understand a side handled baton and how it can cause some pain.

Christ what the f**k is wrong with this country? These stupid sentences were supposed to be goping to be done away with under our wonderful new leaders... yet nothing has changed.
A p1ss weak government, a police force with its hands tied behind its back and a judiciary that seem to enjoy finding ways to hand out more and more lenient sentencing.
No wonder the lawless sh1thole we call the UK is descending into utter anarchy!
