MY 2011 Saloon / Hatch, show yourselves! Pics & chat
Best price for me is generally elite direct as pretty local.
Cheers for the pic Don, certainly look a little chunkier than my Vreds but I am on a 8.5 rim so may give it s little more stretch.
Tempted just to try the Eagles for a change, did love them on my old MGF VVC, grip was emense!

F1s definately better than the oem Dunlops. On my second set now. First set wore perfectly uniform on a fast road set up unlike Dunlops that ribbed on the inside. Grip is superior to the Dunlops with great feedback on the limit.
Ok so 2 years in I thought it was time to ask an obvious question of you all, because I've not seen it asked before...
Do your speedos under read?
I'm seeing a consistent 8% error against the GPS speedo on CameraAlert running on my iPhone and the speed shown on the Pioneer SatNav. So at a displayed 50mph on both these the speedo is at 54 ish... Hope my maths is correct for the 8%
If you all suffer the same, why? Is it down to the standard MY11 rim/tyre profile sizing that has caused it.
The speedo should be fairly accurate given it looks to be derived from a tach pulse, but of course that should be calibrated in manufacture against the specified OD of the tyres.
Thoughts?

Anything up to 10% is normal
International agreements
In many countries the legislated error in speedometer readings is ultimately governed by the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Economic_Commission_for_Europe (UNECE) Regulation 39,[7] which covers those aspects of vehicle type approval that relate to speedometers. The main purpose of the UNECE regulations is to facilitate trade in motor vehicles by agreeing uniform type approval standards rather than requiring a vehicle model to undergo different approval processes in each country where it is sold.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union member states must also grant type approval to vehicles meeting similar EU standards. The ones covering speedometers [8] [9][10] are similar to the UNECE regulation in that they specify that:
The UNECE regulation relaxes the requirements for vehicles mass-produced following type approval. At Conformity of Production Audits the upper limit on indicated speed is increased to 110 percent plus 6 km/h for cars, buses, trucks and similar vehicles, and 110 percent plus 8 km/h for two- or three-wheeled vehicles that have a maximum speed above 50 km/h (or a cylinder capacity, if powered by a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_engine, of more than 50 cm³). European Union Directive 2000/7/EC, which relates to two- and three-wheeled vehicles, provides similar slightly relaxed limits in production.
United Kingdom
The amended Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 permits the use of speedometers that meet either the requirements of EC Council Directive 75/443 (as amended by Directive 97/39) or UNECE Regulation 39.[15]
The Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 2001[16] permits single vehicles to be approved. As with the UNECE regulation and the EC Directives, the speedometer must never show an indicated speed less than the actual speed. However it differs slightly from them in specifying that for all actual speeds between 25 mph and 70 mph (or the vehicles' maximum speed if it is lower than this), the indicated speed must not exceed 110% of the actual speed, plus 6.25 mph.
For example, if the vehicle is actually travelling at 50 mph, the speedometer must not show more than 61.25 mph or less than 50 mph.

- The indicated speed must not be more than 110 percent of the true speed plus 4 km/h at specified test speeds. For example, at 80 km/h, the indicated speed must be no more than 92 km/h.

Cheers Don very informative.
Still strikes me that the manufacturers not making them more accurate is shoddy.
The errors were understandable in the days of the cable drive speedo, but with electronic speedos it's just crazy.
But such is life...

Well think I have finally made the decision, after owning the last 3 generations of the Impreza to not get the latest MY15 model!
All have been a pleasure to own and the MY11 Saloon the best of all, I will most probably be putting mine up for sale in the next few weeks!!
Am hoping to buy a car from my dream list and run it for around 18 months, an E92 V8 M3, then move on to the new MK3 Focus RS once they have been launched, initial plan was to get one brand new but may wait 6 months or so after launch and get a well spec'd ex demo as I cannot justify over 30k for a Focus, also the Mustang will be out by then so I have that option too!
Once I have some up to date pics of the STI I'll post up but in the meantime if anyone is interested let me know!
Here she was last summer, been a few changes since!

Cheers

Cheers Salsa, I really did try to like the MY15 but after 3 Imprezas in a row its time for a change, I'm sure I will be back one day and have loved my Subaru ownership, the cars are just such good value for money and are so practical
Then there is SN itself which has been a huge help getting things right the first time with help and advice from the likes of Rob and Don so big thanks to these two and others!!

Anyone got an idea on the size of the two screws that hold the rubber boot release button on the saloon / sedan. Both of mine are rusted to death and in needing replacements.
I picked up mine last week, was initially looking for a ltd edition Hawkeye but with a few things stopping me I came across a 60reg Wrx sti saloon at a dealer for a decent price and went for it. I've had an RB5 WR Sport and a Hawkeye STI in the past so not my first taste of this type of car. Anyway so far so good, cars got the 320r upgrade and all the rest standard.
Was wondering if anyone had any parts they might like to sell if they have moved on. Looking for standard wheels in mint condition if possible, lower grille, pro-r springs, nice exhaust etc.

I'm looking for a set of fog lamp covers and cant find the post where the part numbers were given, there for a dark grey car and i believe you can order them already painted from Subaru UK.
Also has anyone gone to a single din head unit and if so can you get a single din facia from Subaru?

Cheers Don,
I've gone and ordered a double din JDM panel off e-bay which I hope is genuine and will have a look into what youve listed.
Out of interest dont suppose you have the part # for the fog light covers, I read they come colour coded from subaru but cant find the post.

where ** is the colour code
EN - Dark Gray Metallic
I4 - Plasma Blue Silica
PG - WR Blue Mica

Can usually be purchased off Ebay as new from US dealers at half the price as they seem keen to swap out the covers for the fogs although the supply may now be drying up.
About 10mm lower and much better
