H&S catback with custom 4" pipes, however they did burn the bumper slightly and I've had to insulate it with lava rock film so I'd recommend 3.5".
Was at the ESC tunnel run tonight, lost count of how many people asked if the car was a Subaru, LOL.

Sneaky peek of this morning's efforts. The car is filthy so proper pics at some point when it's had a clean.
Took just under 90 minutes, no broken clips but I did have to take the back wheels off to get to a fastener on the new bracket.

Anyone with the Saloon running an Invidia cat back? Just wondering if they add a decent sound and are worth the money? Not much less than the H&S one though I suppose when you factor in shipping and customs.
Also noob question, but is a remap advisable with the centre pipe cat delete or will is still run safe?

I'd say you'll be fine going cat back but if you start taking out Cats you'll need a map.
On the Invidia, I looked at quite a few systems from the US before I got my H&S and with shipping and Import duty they all came in more than the H&S, especially after Ian did me a deal ;-)

Knock detection on 1, 3 & 4
Just took the car into my dealer, I suspected an iffy noisy accelerator pot, the senior technician took the car to download the log data and 30 minutes later I was told they didn't want me to drive the car away... apparently there are knock logs against cylinders 1, 3 and 4 and they suspect early ringland failure and are initially talking short block replacement subject to inspection.
Not quite what I was expecting out of a bog standard Type UK having only done 8000 miles! Engine run in gently and has never been thrashed.
Mentioned it had used half a litre of oil in 8000 miles and that raised an eyebrow along with the mention of random power drops at 4.5k ish under acceleration
Just have to wait now for an inspection and confirmation of the initial diagnosis and there was me thinking I'd treat myself to the 320 upgrade... perhaps not now.

Hope you get that sorted bud. I thought ringland failure had pretty much been eliminated on the software upgrade?

Had the day off work last Monday and as a compromise with the wife, we went over to her mum's house in Wigan with the little one. They played in the sand pit while I cleaned the car.
So that's the background surrounding the alley location!
It was a fair bit sunny today, and yes two bucket method.

Just to cheer some owners up a bit I check the oil in my hatch every single week. I've done 9000 miles since the last oil change and have only needed to top up about 150ml

Mine was a 320R when I bought it new The car went like a dream and Fuel consumption was very good to fair. Exhaust seemed a nice colour
I would say it felt better than STD and it was a "New" map most peeps I know running the 320R map have had no issues IIRC

I guess with a select monitor or PC with EcuTEK). I was told If any individual cylinders are "Burning" Oil, however small during test it will show up and it's far more accurate than a leak down test.
From the limited amount of "detail" I was given I assumed that the Oil would give it an incorrect burn, effectively turning it into a diesel and would slightly "knock" or pre-ignition. They must be able to record the Data log and overlay that on the cylinder firing sequence to say which cylinders.
Rob I'm just guessing perhaps you can enlighten us if it's just blue smoke an mirrors.

Just to add, the 320R and 340R Subaru UK remaps were done using 97RON fuel as against the OEM map requiring a minimum 98RON.

Compression & leakdown test are the best test's available to diagnose ringland issues if I'm honest. It's such a basic test & can highlight the cylinder leakage past the rings, we've seen up to 95% cylinder leakage Now if they couldn't tell from that then I'm afraid they want to go home.
Granted there are ways to potentially identify issues, One being looking at the knock control strategy whilst data logging the car & seeing what the ignition timing is doing, But this wont tell you any particular cylinder, In fact I actually have a snapshot of data on my laptop showing potential ringland failure.
The newer fa series Engine actually can tell you what a cylinder is doing based on a bar graph etc etc.
But all in all the laptop is quite limited in terms of checking for a potential engine failure unless it's throwing cel codes, the usual is the cam shaft pulleys when all the oil is about burnt away.

So it's not ringland failure then...
So got a call today, the dealer has re-checked all the logs, done compression testing with values in the region of 170 to 175 (Good? Bad? Dealer was happy) and they "could find nothing wrong" they test drove it twice but on the second outing detected a hesitance around 4500 rpm. Following discussion with Subaru the ECU was reset. On the subsequent test drive it was reported to have a generally improved response.
So after frightening the living daylights out of me with suspect ringland failure I now have the car back relatively unscathed, if I ignore the scratched duracon gear **** and center console it took me an hour to polish out the **** scratches... you can just imagine the comments from my other half never realised how hard it was
Anyway I'm told they do believe I have got an un identified fault, the ECU memory has been cleared an I've been asked to go back as soon as I experience any hesitance so they can check the logs again. I have also been told to keep a close eye on the oil level, but I check that every week without fail so that's not a problem.
Anyway I'd just like to thank you all for your support and information. I suppose it's just a matter of seeing what happens next, but by my reading of it I'd be much better getting the 320 upgrade although there's some question now as to whether it's still available from Subaru

"They" tend to tell you what they think you need to hear or the "Dilithium Crystal modulator" is in meltown and Scotty is on is way
I've heard some absolute @@@@@@@@ from service staff over the last 20yrs on basic stuff even my wife knows
Service: We connected the laptop in and no faults found, so everything is fine.................. you may want to blow up the flat front tyre though

So having owned the saloon since December I can resist no longer and have been looking at wheels!
I'm going for the S206 look for the rims and the closest I can find are BBS CH's and CH-R's in black and silver.
I always loved the look of my anthracite Turini's on my silver hatch but not 100% on them on the white saloon, when I got the car and it had the standard wheels fitted I thought the silver looked cleaner.
Will probably opt for 18's again as 19 inch BBS are a fair bit more, 2k plus with rubber!

Only other wheel I had my eye on was a 3SDM but I cannot get my head round swapping out a set of quality Speedlines for this make. Also needs to be on coilovers I think for such a concaved rim.
Only real issue I have is neither of the BBS come in a Pcd of 114 so will have to be either redrilled or I'll have to use some special nuts, been told correct spigot ring will be supplied to centre the wheel on the hub and nuts will then just hold wheel to hub, anyone any experience of this set up as I have my concerns even though be told its safe.
Other thing is ET is 38 opposed to my Turini's which are 35 but only 3mm so not big issue!
What do you think on wheels and colour.
The black CH and both CH-R's come with a replaceable chrome lip so should a kerb get a bit close that can be replaced and not a full refurb!
And my car as it stands (well minus bottom line kit) to help you decide.
