Yeah I opted for the fogs instead, the original covers are nasty

So the STI has now been taken off the Subaru UK website, does that mean no new ones left at IM?

Cost me about £55 plus £11ish tax and duties.
Ordered cheers bud, wont go on for a while yet as still using the fogs!!

Just a word of warning to all that have fitted covers over fogs, I did this to my hawk and turned the fogs on by mistake one day and it very lightly melted the rear of the cover and warped the fog cover a bit, had it been turned on for any length of time I think it would have been a lot worse, I'll therefore be covering the rear of the cover in some heatproof sheeting just in case.

This had been my thought, but just as easy to unplug at source.

Do wish Subaru hadn't wired them so that to use the rear fog you have to turn the fronts on first.

What it doesn't mention below is that there is a plastic locating peg/clip that also needs to be released at the forward end of the unit.

Small update. As i have got as far ahead as i can with the exterior I thought it time to start inside. Only a small update but I've never been a fan of the silver gear surround so thought I would try this new plastidip stuff out. Looked on the Web and they are out of stock so off to ebay and a £15 tin is now selling for £30 so thought what the hell and got a can.

Anyhow it was nice and easy to remove, so here is the offending item (forgot to get a pick fitted but we all know what it looks like)

Masked it all up, applied a light coat and allowed it to try. Then on went four heavy coats and left it to dry over night. Left it till mid day and took all the tape off with the help of a Stanley blade. I so here it is

And here it is fitted along with a genuine duracon sti gear **** as fitted to the jdm sti's. Had one on my type 25 and loved it so decided that I needed another. Any how here it all is fitted.

It's a lot darker in the flesh, the light doesn't help.

Anyway anyone thinking of using the stuff, crack on its a nice product to use. Will see how well it t fairs up yet for now I'm happy. Couple more bits due in the mail and that will be it for the inside. Will update you later

Regards

epic fail by me but.......

Guys as some know i have a 60 plate saloon with the horrible looking fake chrome boot trim which i am looking to paint. Been to halfords and they do not have the code in stock so can not mix the paint so i took to the internet to get some, Found the code, found a supplier in Germany as no one in the uk came up on the search only for chip repair so ordered what was classed as a spray can in the right colour code. it turned up today looking like this

so i assume it is in fact a spray tin but not the assumption I made as an aerosol spray tin and requires a paint gun of some kind. question is

where can i get one that does not require a full compression set up?

Or anyone know of someone in the Berkshire area that could swap it to an aerosol can for me?

any advice welcome

Could just ask a local bodyshop to paint it for you?
