Wasn't the 6-sp a bit of a pre-emptive purchase running at that level? I know you don't have to 'worry' now, but the 5-sp may have lasted anyway....???

But I suppose if you've got the dsiposable dosh.............

My wagon already ate 1 5speed, 6speed is more than about power tollerance though , so much nicer to drive The old fella I bought the car off had a lot more money than me lol

Anything over 300ftlbs on a classic 5 speed is finger in the air tbh

It turned out to be the turbo is knackered . There is unbelievable amounts of play in the shaft and there's a fair few blades missing . Thanks fellas for your input .

Thought so - your observations pointed to it.

Don't buy a Green again! What can the Green make - 400, 500 or what?

In that case get a roller-brearing SC42 Billet next!

It'll do the business on a 2.5 - should make somewhere near its rated 420bhp on V-Power only.

Only problem with that joz is i'm going to be selling the car and thats a few quid to buy 1 of those . If i was keeping it then yes would be great but the car sits un used most of the time so i'm looking for a cheap replacement as my standard turbo is also damaged so dont want to put that back on. Also could ther be a chance any broken bits of turbo could have got into the engine? How do i check ? Although engine runs and still sounds sweet .

You'll only know if the engine's buggered in time. If there's even the tiniest piece then it wiil get shagged in time.

Sorry, I didn't realise you sere selling. Why not just pick up a cheap VF28/29/30 or TD05H 16g off here or eBay, then get remapped? I reckon you'll have to get the remap in order to sell it -- no-one will want to buy a car with an unmapped turbo on (and for good reason)...

It was getting mapped anyway as i wasn't happy with the map it had and then turbo blew so i'll get a 20g map it and keep for a while then get rid once i've had some fun from the car after spending that money on it .

Is the wisdom on these that they need a substantial oil supply ?

They work fine on an Ev*, but not on a Subaru, but that's just what I've heard.

I know a lad with an FP red on his car ( Ev* ), and that's been fine.

Yeah it's weird. The FP range for the Evos are a popular choice and (presumably) fine.
