OK if not crazy enough for ya... What about one exhaust per cylinder bank... Oh and that would mean having two turbo's too... You can then use smaller ones (TD04?) so less lag... And Twin intercoolers (where have we seen that one?) etc etc... Should be first ever scooby to sport that...

In that case the Equal Length Manifolds would be very easy to make...

Maybe we should start a thread to find you a new challenge

Actually mentioned it on a thread a while back, commenting on how many legacy owners were called Steve. Was a bit weird.

Must be a "Steve" kind of car. I love mine: it has NO image and I am a teeny bit too tall (read fat) for an impreza, really.

Sounds like Stevie_Turbos garage is a cool place to be. Would that be a 3.0litre V6 twin turbo Granada, then?

And presumably it has a tow-bar fitted to carry the fuel trailer around

Okay, moving back the thread.

I've been reading this from the start, which is something I think you should all do one last time. It's quite interesting to see the evolution, and some of the problems along the way. April seems so far away on the calender, but it seems like only yesterday David was modifying inlet manifolds and I was told by PE they didn't want to give my car a Phase 1 conversion.

Anyway, a few snippets, the first 2 are the best

Im not spending more than 150 modifying this car if I can help it..
DMW

I need to find 80 bhp before ill be happy.. not easy.. Ive got some tricks up my sleeve though..
DMW

hangover is nearly gone...
DMW

Also going out drinking last night in York (Why york??) and getting to bed at 4.30am and then starting work this morning at 8.00am didnt help.. Doh.
DMW

so do I becuase Im beginning to wish I never started now!
DMW

Bottom plate.. was going to grind welds off but got a invite to the pub instead (and it was 8pm... far too late to be not drinking..)
DMW

if I run 18psi...
DMW

I did see what looked like a DIY FMIC on a white sti at powerstation in november. It had a reversed manifold and greddy turbo upgrade + motec. What a mess!!!!!!!! While it may have been functional, it was a very rough install. Obviously down to individual people how it turns out.
Stevie_Turbo, could this be Pat?

Im sure ill find something to do! -- Only till eight though as its the weekend and I love drinking!!!
DMW

Roughly where its going... A few things need to move...
DMW

very entertaining thread, you folks sure seem to drink alot!
mlambert

And that was just up to page 9...

LOL at paul.. I was planning on just winding up the boost and fuel pressure to start with... then injectors turn up.. at a price not to be refused.. then it just went mad..

Paul, after hearing that list of cars Stevie_Turbo owns, I have the strongest suspicion that he may be a little bit of a StealthMonkey Q-Car Ferrari-killing-skoda kind of a guy!

Blue oval yep, rwd yep...4.6 Rover V8 in a 79 Granada. ( soon to go into a much more modern Granada....1980 ), with a couple of extras. Not laggy in the midrange, just a very annoying missfire, although I think its almost sorted. Once I am happy it is running well, I will up the boost. A lot.
Id love to have a go with my legacy too, but its just too un-modified ( It might struggle to break 300, which would just really annoy me. Better not knowing. ). If I wasnt using it everyday, I would do more, but trying to keep all these turbos going is very expensive, so some just have to wait their turn. The Granada is my Fave, and I will see 600bhp someday, or very close to it.
Actually, my garage is a complete mess, full of junk.

Q cars??? me???? Sometimes you have to be careful what you decide to race. But if you are the one in the "slow" car to start with...its soo much funnier watching them dissappear in your rear view mirror.
Subarus are very hard to beat for all round value and peformance. And a legacy is a complete bargain as well as the fact it can almost go un-noticed, by both types of undesireable. Makes it easier to enjoy it.

However, I'm just waiting for a few bits to turn up, and I'll be building a "baby" version. I'll do my best to get it finished, even if it's just to keep you honest

I think I just got a nibble feels like a big one..........

Andy...

I'd watch your words..

1) Becuase I've seen marks car and have photos to prove it (shame they have to be kept a secret.

2) Ive seen it run

3) Becuase it would **** on everything.

4) Becuase you would cry as yours wouldnt be as quick.

I think that about covers it..

Paul,

Pats car is silver, but poormemory could explain that.

It does have a greddy turbo and a reversed manifold, and it most certainly is a mess!

But then he was trained at Bodgett and S'carper mechanical college for German/scottish electricians.

David,

I too have seen marks figures, despite two a levels and a numeracy type degree,I was struggling to comprehenmd numbers that high

I am hoping I see the day when I can do 500m in 13.whatever and be over fuelling by 30%+. Admittedly would be nicer to not be over fuelling at all, but will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Looks like in about 6 weeks! (heres hoping)

by the way, feel free to say happy birthday to my crank, which was/will be officially born today!!

I look forward to seeing your car finally Adam, especially as the engine will have the chassis it deserves, or as close as anyway.

Steve@SMG, when are we going to see some more pictures? I was just getting into your project when it went all quiet (hmmm, sounds like me).

DIY 800hp car?

David,

"Im more a 'bitter' person"

That's what happens when owners of SLOW cars, mix with the owners of FAST cars

Had a thought over the weekend, what about DIY Quick Rack steering? Don't know where you'd start with that one though.
