Welcome & Happy Birthday Emma.

Does anyone else get the impression P20SPD is perhaps a little protective of his baby? lol

50mph in 1st? I assume this is nNOT whilst playing traffic light grand prix with a Nova SRi? (No offence NOS if you are reading this)

Protective...

My wife is only on the insurance of my car because it made it cheaper and I think she has driven it twice..

... and I was :worried:

Unhappy

My Girl just tried to add me to her car insurance.
I would have bumped her premium up by....(ready?).......
£1800 TPFT!

Mind you, I was expecting that: Mine is £2300.

And no..I cannot get it any cheaper: I have been a very naughty boy: Getting banned sucks. Getting banned twice in one year?

Emma,

How does it feel being 22?

Steve,

Banned twice!! ouch... mind explaining what for or shall we leave the subject now?

It must be a cringe when on the phone sorting insurance when the "so any claims or convictions sir" question is asked..

I just took myself off the wife's insurance as I made it more expensive but errrmmm not compared to those figures..
I only have 6points and one claim.. it was fine last year but she has just claimed herself so I think they added on more for two claims etc.. so taking me off reduced her insurance.

Awwww 22....I remember 22......I could afford insurance...lol.....

I assume you will be out drinking later?

Insurance phone calls...well..they always ask if I am sitting down!

I got banned for....Having a Vauxhall Tigra. Sort of.
It was a company car...and I hated every fibre of it's existance. That car lived on it's redline with no oil and no water. I asked for an Alfa 156...and they gave me a Vauxhall Tigra...the only car on the list I didn't want.

I tried to kill it consistently for over a year, crashing it into stuff (not my insurance...and company refused to swap it! I said to them that I would swap it for a basic spec 1.0litre corsa and they said no!) and so I used to sit at the vehicles top speed (112mph!) on the motorway praying for it to blow up. It never did.

Unfortunately, the police used to stop me all the time in that car.
I got stopped for doing 22mph in a 20mph limit (but not booked)
I got stopped for 85mph on the motorway in the dry! (3 points!)
I got stopped for 112mph at 4:00am on the A303. (6 months ban)
I got stopped for 68mph coming down a sliproad to join the A329(m) in a 60limit. That got me a one month ban.
I got stopped and searched in that car almost daily.

I think they thought that because I was 22, shaved head and 6'2" (way to big for the car) I must have stolen it. I dunno.

Since then I have had an Impreza (which was fantastic, but I only kept for a month or so, becuase everywhere I parked it someone would scratch it) and I now have a legacy turbo. I love legacy's.

I can park it anywhere, and no one cares, and I have been stopped 3 times in it going VERY VERY fast, and been let off the hook.
They normally pull me over....ask me a LOT of questions about the car and tell me to "take it steady and have a nice night".

I HATE Tigras.

Addendum: In the end I killed the tigra. (YES!) I was quitting smoking at the time, and went a bit mental from Nicotine withdrawl (that is actually on the doctors report!) and got so fed up with the car I just drove it into the corner of a barn at 75mph.
It was Bent with a captial B.
No: this is not the sort of thing I would do normally. Quitting smoking really had a weird effect on me. That coupled with driving the most hateful car ever built, and I went a bit over the edge.

No I am not mental, but I was.
So there is a nice story for you.

David,

Did you keep the TD05 on and modify it to be front entry in the end?

Seeing as though he rolled his eyes (probably at me), the TD05 is still standard.

Er..sorry, that turned into a bit of a novella, didn't it?
Apologies all!

David, do you have an EGT on the car?
If you do, what difference have you found the water injection made to your retardation/fuelling etc?

DIY Anti-lag? My god! is there no stopping you!

This thread and the DIY ECU one are what I read SN for. Proves that stuff like this can be done, and not with much difficulty, and with not a lot of cash.

Time to buy some tools and play with my car! can't do any more damage than I have done already

Dave When you finally get your Map sorted as you want it, do you fancy posting your Dyno-graph?

I for one would be really interested to see just how driveable something this awesome can be.

Just need to get the car back with working gears....and start saving for that TD05 and WI...heh heh heh......
