david, will you be trying to get an MOT wih 550cc injectors?

If so, I'll try and sort a ecu file to run half sensible with the larger injectors, give it a while on tick over and fast idle and the ECU should get pretty close for the emissions test.

Exhaust?

Suppose, but sometimes when a car isnt driven very often, it is a bit of hassle.
Its also more hassle over here with Government run testing stations, which almost seem to have fail quotas to meet each month. They really do fail some cars on ridiculous things.
Im not suggesting you drive without one as a matter of course, but for a one off journey, only to be parked up again, for perhaps some time afterwards, then it is easier just to drive anyway.
As for insurance, it is a bit of a joke. Not sure what it says on MOT's over there on the mainland, but it clearly says on the back of the MOT certificate here....

"This certificate relates only to the condition of the vehicle at the time of testing. It should not be regarded as evidence of the condition of the vehicle at any time."

So why the f**k do we have to do it????? How can they issue a certificate for 1 year, when it clearly states it is vailoid only for about....20 minutes???? The length of time they are testing it.
Yet another government money making SCAM

If you need to drive it without an MoT, why don't you just book it in at the nearest garage to your destination using an 'alias'? Then if you get caught by the rozzers you have a legitimate excuse to be driving it i.e. en route to an MoT test .
Then just do the same for your return journey home

Don't you have a nice MOT tester near you?
The sort that charge £50 for the test even if the car isn't there?

A mention about coil leads. MY00 do not fit, as the coil pack from a MY00 has spark plug type ends. It has to be leads from the MY98 type and similar, with the coil pack in the centre of the manifold.
I cut the fuel rails on mine as the original pipe routes needed altered slightly. Not much. I just shortened the bit that sits over the top rad hose pipe bit. I flared the ends using a cheapy flaring tool, that I bought from Frost, which is actually quite good. Only does imperial sizes though, but will get away with 8mm pipe ok. Was only £40, and handy to have. Its like a vise grip design, and much better than any other cheapy flarong tool Ive ever used.

I didnt have any problems with the drivers side.. I did with the passenger side though... the tube hit the earthing point on the manifold, so I hacked it off and welded a new one on.. couldnt do it with a brake pipe flaring tool, so i spot welded around the tube then drilled out the middle...

Just been to inspect how things are going.

Looking good. Bumper was on, then off, then on, then off. FMIC was on then off then on. That intercooler is HUGE!!!!!

Paul (Pavlo) was welding the throttle cable bracket onto the manifold as i left!

On track i think.
