get some bends from pace for the U part maybe.
remember the silicon hose will go oval if you like, just like a piece of pipe in a vice... (make a little larger in diameter to compensate for loss of area if you can)

Would the air throughput through a normal water radiator be insurficient to run it as an intercooler?
Just thinking that it is cheap to get a normal radiator re-cored (about 100pound), is the core different?
Oh no I am thinking that a DIY FMIC might be affordable.. am I on a slipper slope to taking my car apart...

Chiark,
No but my father-in-law has one already...
I think I am more of a bolt it on person rather than fabricate it..
Was hoping Mr W.. might have been able to create a template version and I just bolt a Mr W FMIC straight in..
I think the pipe work fabrication is a bit beyond me..
Also I only seem to replace stuff when it is broken, that way it gets passed the wife's strigent tests.. (might have to drop that screwdriver through the top mount by accident)..
My heat shields are going to be rattling soon, so I need a downpipe (which bolts should I undo to get the most convincing rattle?
)

Ah....the missus test. Yeah I have that!
Soloution: Disconnect acuator. Drive her a mile or so, hit overboost limit once. Tell her car needs a new ECU, Intercooler and gearbox cos UK fuel has 'damaged' it and that it is going to cost about £1500. It might work!
Mine didn't buy it though.
David, that FMIC is HYAWGE! Nice! You are going to be melting tarmac with your hot-airstream
Ya know that feeling when you stand behind a Jet engine? lol
Good to see you are on target.

Regarding MOT. While it is required, it does not carry points if caught without it AFAIK. I have a copy of the traffic branch training guideline thing ( or something like that ), and from what I can make of it, many things do carry points, but MOT doesnt, so it would just be a fine, which while not good, is a lot better than points. It also basically seems to boil down to one simple fact. Motorists are always guilty.
