you will probably need bigger jets on a physically bigger engine, as the turbo in question (td05 or bigger) will need more oomph to spool up than a turbo on a 1300cc mini

Depends on the size of turbo on the mini...
50bhp is a nice round figure, Id go for that first, maybe switching off at around 12psi

if 50 bhp is your chosen one
and your getting a jerk due to low power change over, can you not just "up" the cut off point till they equal themselves out (as boost will be building all the time). if your using a shift light thingy to do this then it's only going to be a twist of a ****.
Sounds easy but I bet it ain't

The problem with using a higher cut off point is that too much boost + too much nitrous = boom, but theoretically yes this is the way to do it. Vizard explains it as running "corrected" boost levels, i.e. injecting N2O is the equivalent of X psi and at X psi you cut off the gas. It'd be nice if there was a neat little formula to work that out, but I can't find one.

I wouldn't use a shift light to trigger when to cut of the gas, a pressure switch would be better.

Rather than using the mp sensor (unless you know how to hack into it) ho about using the adjustable pressure switch that ERL use on their water injection kit? I'm sure you can buy these individually (ask the Aigin fellow) and you can just the switching signal to come on where you like...I couldn't find them in the RS catalogue when I last looked, but they must be in there somewhere

tim, im fairly sure the map sensor has a 5v supply then as pressure is applied it outputs a voltage proportional to the pressure, then if I use a voltage comparator I can just choose the voltage I want it to swich off at.

Anyway People I have broken my right hand, so project is on hold, and im off to spain on sunday

David, just another of my silly and rare brainwaves, but why not change the radiator so it is not as tall then the i/c pipes can go over the top of this.

Or have you taken this into account by dropping the radiator. I know i have seen the car etc, but there is just too much to remember.

Sorry

Steven

That bloke that came off the Harley, in fact chewed on a blasting cap (what they use to set off dynamite) which went off and blew half his face off. A nurse I know looked at the picture and reckoned it was real and that once cleaned up with a bit of reconstructive surgery wouldn't look so bad
