What modifications though?

Apart from 19" wheels, the spec reads as though its standard
I guess it also has the Subaru freebie 320R & sat nav

Did you miss out some posts???

AST suspension, Miltek exhaust, complete set of grilles, low level rear spoiler, not sure but I think he upgraded the SatNav as well.

Well unless they've replaced the Miltek and the AST's, the spoiler and grilles are mentioned on the above website. Power is only listed at 296Ps as well

You even "quoted" the AST suspension/spoiler in your post 299 above.

"Was" also fitted with a boost gauge.

The 44k one is the blue one I think with all those mods on it - still tempted but have been exploring some other options too. I want to be 110 percent sure that I'm doing the right thing!

mmm your in a hard place Mick because in my view my own personal bubble

that Blue 1 looks awsome, and has nice upgrades to boot, maybe 1 too many spoilers though.

but your 1 k off the cosworth and even though people slated it, id be very tempted at having that, with its block etc

but then again i know nothing LOL

I just think the residual on the cossie will hold possibly better but time will tell

I think 44k for an sti saloon is too much and for that id probably go get another mark like a GTR or something.

thats my 2 pennath anyway
id have may even comtemplated dare i say it a BMW M1

Always welcome!!

Did consider a gtr - even less practical than the scooby and way more thirsty - the blue sti would not have the spoiler - too much for me - but does have cossie rods and pistons and lots more besides - and it's a saloon whereas cossie was only hatch which I don't like as much

BMW - not for me

Wondered about rs3 but very hard to get - and then the most practical option of an s4 quattro - 330 bhp and I can get the dog in - but it's an Audi and they are everywhere !!!! Don't know if I'm an Audi guy - and frankly the dealers I went to were shocking - have to say my scooby dealer is exceptional

So if I want great service I stick with the scooby - I've everything sorted for it -insurance and finance so it's just my inability to make a decision !!!

Doesn't the Cosworth come with a reduced warranty period - 2 years? Would put me off. Who have people used for insurance? Has anyone discovered an insurance company who accept the 320r as a 'standard' car like the 330s rather than an sti with mods?

Think you are right with the reduced warranty - it's an issue for me on the one I'm considering as some of the mods I think carry a 20k warranty which is under a years mileage for me.

Insurance was a problem - my current insurers for my 3.6 outback (red star) "won't insure imprezas" - and most won't accept more than 3 modifications.

One told me that because of my upgraded brakes I'd be more likely to be rear ended!! So it was an increased risk!!

I got cover sorted by Schofield (Subaru insured) -very helpful and fully understood the modifications too -their guy Tom was very helpful and found me a very good deal considering the mods and power. At one stage I thought it would be impossible to insure at all.

my old company (LV) for 10yrs, they had insured my 2002 sti PPP 300bhp, my 1999 JDM type R 300bhp and my 2006 JDM type 20 350bhp but WOULD NOT insure a 320R or a 330s FFS

Looks really nice
For me though, there's probably just too many badges on the rear end, 5 in all! :O If I owned that then I'd probably drop the AWD and the WRX ones
and invest in an Impreza badge and have 'Impreza' and 'STi' either side.

What a load of bo%%ocks!
Even if it was true, would they prefer that you rear ended someone and your insurance had to pay him out or, you were rear ended in which case it's his insurance that pays yours?

Their argument makes no sense at all, I would go back and tell them to think of something that at least makes sense

We are so far "behind the times".

The ONLY market the new cars are called Impreza's is the US.

A number have just left the STi badge in place (similar to JDM)

Believe me I did!

I had no idea that fitting uprated brakes was classed as a modification ! I've had AP brakes on my last 4 scoobys and never gave it a thought

^^^ Yep, red colour-coded trim (no SUBARU). Plus just the STi badge.

But do us favour - get rid of those tacky stickers from the number plate! The 'Ring one looks like a feckin' gammon slice or a sirloin steak!

lol

But to echo Shaun: stop being a ruddy poncey tart! Just enjoy the thing.... from behind the wheel!
