Update...

Spoke to the guys at 7am and they were in Foix starting their approach to the (very white) Pyrenees.

The N152 is 5 hours of the best driving in Europe. Jealous? Me? Oh YES!!!

Just spoke to the lads in lloret.

They were just off round Prodrive.

Rum's P1 is going down well with the Spaniards ( well the roof is apparantly ).

22B had a bit of a rub with some Armco and caused some cosmetic damage to front bumper.
All sorted at local Subaru dealer.

1 Chap lost a tyre through a gravel puncture.

They had dinner in the company of Mr Gronholm last night ( well he was sitting in the corner when 18 of them took over the steak house).

Weather is apparantly absolutely gorgeous and tans are developing. They were most amused when I told them we had snow.

Not jealous at all !.

Just spoke to mossman. They are having an awesome time out there.

They did the prodrive tour and went to the shakedown.

Get this one though, Burnsey turned up in his P1 and joined the gang for a while.

They then went and got the WRC car and put it bang in the middle of the groups scoobies for a group photo! How cool is that!!

They had just stopped on the coast road for yet more photos, weather is glorious.

They even have some in car camera's running on the road sections, cant wait to see that footage.

Am i jelous, too bloody right i am!!

And to think I turned down the offer to co-drive with one of the party this year!

I can imagine what the video footage will be like, having been there a couple of years ago Some of the best roads I've ever been on.

Will definitely have to make arrangements to go again next year.

Burnsie seems to like playing with the SIDC.

Two years ago he had a run with 4 cars from the party, in his WRC.

He was leading and keeping to his lane whereas the lads ( who were quite animated when relaying the story ) were ALL over the road. He would pass a car and then wait until the four had also passed then boot it again.

Top bloke and a gent to boot.

Just spoke to the lads in Lloret and apparantly the RACC ( organising Club ) have requested British and French Fans to stay away to avoid threat of Foot and Mouth.

They have checked with the Rally HQ and they have said it is ok for the lads to spectate.

BBC News shows this

No word yet - so using the old maxim that No News is Good news.

Mark ( Coleman ) was pretty gutted when the got the press report and was down at Rally HQ at 22:30 local time getting an answer.

Just got a message from Mark saying that they were all A OK for their stage visit.

And it looks like Puras ( Citroen ) is giving it some.

Jealous? Me?

I really hope the FMD stuff isn't a problem. Sounds like a wonderful time is being had, and it's good to hear Mr Burns is a top geezer.

Wonderful!

Spoke with Mossman last night.

Still no isues re spectatng so far.

They saw gronholm go out with his missing rear wheel.

The spaniards are loving the scoobies, they are getting waved through control areas by the local cops who also seem to be loving the convoy, how refreshing is that!!

Sun tans are coming along nicely. I think the guys are making a big impact down there, they are even getting asked for autographs by some of the locals. LOL

Spoke to the lads last night relaying the results for them.

No probs on stages.

They have lost one car whose engine had let go.

Mark had to reverse some 1.5 miles up the hard shoulder ( and managed to contact the armco ) to help recover the car.

Cool

Hi ya all...

Just got in...well at 07.00!....Left early yesterday with Mossman due to work commitments....18 hour trip from Lloret....to Calais...to Hull...to Leeds...and am cream crackered....will post an update later when I wake up after a long earned sleep!!!!

In the meantime the Scoobs were all a great success....hospitality was great....company was great...driving was better than great (tried out my new brakes a few times!), weather was amazing (26 on Sat @ 16.30!!!!!)...loads of beers....the stages and roads in Spain are unreal.... ...

Re the spectator problems etc....we got interviewed by the Times sports reporter and apparntly there was an article in the Times last week sometime....I think Fridays....

Re my P1....well Mossman is now famous in Spain....waves...cheers....autographs...flag flying...police flagging us through controls and stopping traffic for us.... not suggesting that his head was swelling....but put it this way I had to fight him to get my bloody keys back!!!!

Catch you all later....and will try and post some pickies if I can find some friendly web space that I can understand!!

Cheers

Rum

What a trip, returned to the Uk at 9.30 Monday with a slightly scarred 22B and 3,341 miles on the clock. Some of the video footage taken while driving the stages will be awesome. Absolutely knackered but would like to publicly thank Mark and Dee Coleman for organising, leading and holding together an excellent party. Also thanks to Prodrive for looking after us. will post pictures soon
