Hi all,
A friend is waiting to test drive one of these and Honda in Hull, are about as useful as a choccy fireguard! No word on when the demonstrator is arriving and no interest. Has anyone had a demo from anywhere?
All info appreciated,
Cheers,
Mossman

Last Wednesday I followed one for about 4 miles. The driver was a bit like a test pilot but my scooby did me proud and never let him out of its sights
Expect the car came from Fleet Honda so there are some around.

I nipped into the Honda dealer at the weekend - he said this weekend is release date. Reckoned on December / New Year for delivery as the first 500 are already sold unseen.
I'm between a Civic or an imported Scoob at the moment..... ah decisions.

The older Integra Type-R is the one I'd have. On some vids I downloaded it was pretty even with the older Civic Type-R at lower speeds and much better looking than both the Civics. £8500 for a nice one too.

I took a look at one in the U.S (where it's called the RSX). I was very dissapointed.Very dull exterior but the inside is gorgeous.
1/4 mile times quoted at 14.6 stock....

I've already had an Integra Type-R.
Superb car for a short while - everyone should try one.....But it had to go one day. I was driving back from a mates place about 30 miles away with a huge hangover cruising at 90ish... it was so bloody noisy I just started shouting at it to shut up! feckin shut up you noisy b@stard! The rockard suspension was making me feel sick over every bump and the tight seats were compressing me nads.... chopped it in for an Accord R within the week, which is just as quick and much easier to drive fast by the average mortal.

A chap across the road from me has an Accord Type-R, 2.2 aint they?
The only problem with them is that they look fairly standard but with an afterthought spoiler. Shame really when the performance is so impressive.

Correct. Same engine that goes into the Prelude Type S but with a different manifold and exhaust.

Stock 1/4 mile times for the new Type-R are 14.3 seconds according to Honda.
Dont have a clue what the times for the old one is, but I think quite a bit less impressive.
Id take the new Teg, looks loads better than the CTR, and is around a second quicker to 60, so probably quite a bit quicker through the gears too.
On the subject of 1/4 miles, is a 14.3 1/4 mile a very good time? whats it comparible to competition wise?

Your all of load of girls if you like the new CTR.
Its just not the same as the old, if you can talk at a reasonable level at full revs to guy next to you, it aint a Type R
It hasnt even got Recaro's, its a VTI badged up as a Type R. The engine is good thou. Its a great car, but for me it just doesn't have the rawness i love about the ITR & CTR.
Andrew the RSX is completly diffenret to the Type R, and is slower. Check out

Any of you lot know what insurance group the Civic Type-R is coming in at?
My bruv is looking at one (definitely not me as I have a 2 week old - well to me - MY00 DBM wagon ) and has been told group 18.
This seems way too high and since he is a journalist he's been given a stoopidly high qoute based on this.
Any ideas .. I'd have thought 15-16 meself.
Doofus.

Hi Nick,
I'd love to hear how you get on with your new Civic.
I am test driving one on Saturday (hopefully).
Looking to buy in January, but at the moment can't decide between a Scoob or the Civic.
Your feedback wopuld really help.
BTW, do you currently own a scoob, will you be able to compare ?
I was hoping to buy a car earlier but I will now have to go the US until Xmas - bummer !

Can't be ar5ed to read the whole thread so sorry if this is reputition.
The cars aren't available until Mid Nov for delivery. Test drive ones have been delayed due to paint on the wing mirrors not being up to scratch.
Test cars are at the earliest availble week commence 15th.
Ours arrives Nov 12th
