Pic tells a thousand words, is that good or bad?
Generally very good I would have thought. The fact that the lip is on the back of the cone is a great plus point.
However, I can echo what Jura says above. In my early days of tuning I had a BMC filter on my STi 6 and when I swapped it to a large cylindrical filter from K+N I gained something like 12 bhp.
Your situation is more complex because you have cold air feed to an enclosed filter so just fitting a large K+N means you lose the advantage of the cold air unless you build a cold air box for the K+N cone.
I suspect you will pick up power if you put on a big K+N in place of the CDA and you box this K+N in to benefit from the cold air. How much you would gain I have no idea and I have no idea whether it would be worth the effort because your car would also need a remap for the bigger filter.

I have been doing some work with Magnahelix guages. These measure pressure differential. If there is a vacuum or pressure drop in the inlet tract between the air filter and the turbo compressor the turbo has to overcome that differential on top of any boost it makes which is extra work for the turbo. I have been very surprised by how big the filter has to be to substantially eliminate the pressure differential and I have come to the conclusion because of the work I have done that there are a lot of cars out there running air filters that are too small.

HKS Racing Suction Kit can pass a reasonable amount of air but it also allows dirt the size of grains of sand through which in time is a bad thing.
