They took her laptop away for examination this evening and have rung back saying they need to speak to her asap regarding this. They have traced the guy and need to take a further written statement.
I have his details through Facebook and he is in the Navy. I have looked at the conversation between them both and my daughter clearly states that she is 15 and this guy still goes on to w*ank on cam to her.

My daughter is disgusted and ashamed to have let it get that far..Soon as she saw him doing this she switched the laptop off.

I'm livid....i hope the police have something tonight as they need to come back at 10pm as they have traced the guy involved and further developments have taken place.
Good post for warning others of what could(does!) sometimes happen on line.

One has to keep drilling in young ones' heads that there are plenty of weirdos about on internet. Hope he gets nailed for that by police.

It would be okay if she were 16 though

How old is the bloke then, I'm guessing if he's in the Navy then somewhere between 18 and 40? Those sailors, dirty barstewards aren't they, all that time at sea can't be good for you

Update.

The police wanted to act quick with he fact he was in the Navy and could go to sea anytime. So the Police took a written statement from my daughter finished at 1am. The police were then going to travel up to Scotland to arrest the guy. So I'm waiting to hear what's happening with him.

Working in the armed forces is a notifiable occupation (employers will be notified),so I expect the old bill will be queuing up to let his c.o.know!

I can't help thinking that laws in the UK to deal with these people just aren't harsh enough

Neither the laws or the punishments and now paedophiles can apply to have their names removed from the sex offenders register because it infringes their human rights. You commit any sex crime and you should loose you human rights and the law should protect the innocent and vulnerable in society not the predators and sickos!

What if he left the room and didn't close the computer and one of his colleagues thought it would be amusing to whip his old man out on camera? You've now got the wrong person sacked and marred for life

In no way condoning the original events but you must let the law take its course, too much vigilante-ism around.

An identity parade could then prove his innocence if that was the case

I sincerely hope they catch up with him and get him sentenced such that he remains out of circulation for a long time.

His commanding officer will know about any accusations against him very quickly.

Saldy this doesn't shock me ..

A friend of mine sent me a link to a you tube video called Pedo test ..

Just go in any chat room and call yourself something with F and a low number, the amount of people messaging the person in the video is crazy ..

Scary ..

one like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPzTlR9K2GM clearly a kid doing the video but still ..

how is telling his commanding officer vigilante-ism if anything its the oppersite the sooner he knows anything the man in question will be pulled off any duty's that may have him leaving the country at short notice and placed under guard if there is reason to think he will do a runner

This is something that plays heavily on my mind; I have 3 daughters... 16,15 and 12 and I did my level best to keep them off Facebook. Apart from all the nonses, it causes all sorts of other problems with bullying and all sorts. The problem is that they will always find a way to get onto it.

I have no faith in the judicial system what's so ever, and although I'd do all I could to stay on the right side of the law if happened to one of mine, I wouldn't trust this pathetic Nanny State, Human Rights driven government to effect a suitable punishement on the perpetrator.

I'm not endorsing, or recommending rough justice; but just speaking from my own personal standpoint. But...

I would track the dirty, sick, weak ******* down like a f*cking blood hound and go to work on the f*cker's genitals with some chemicals and some powertools!!

"The man in question" being the person who exposed themselves, or the person who's Facebook account was used? If the latter then a potentially innocent party has been at least seriously inconvenienced.

Just what I was thinking! You really have done a good job parenting as your daughter came and told you! Most kids I feel would probably of just shut the laptop down and not told anyone, then gone through months of weirdness trying to deal with what they witnessed!

I know I did!
I had a man try and fiddle with me at a swimming baths when I was 10, I knew it was wrong and ran off but thought in my ignorance that I was somehow to blame as I was only a child and adults are always right!!!

Luckly nothing happened and I had shut it out of my mind until my mid 20's when it hit me like a ton of bricks! I wish I had been strong enough to ask for help but I still thought I maybe was at fault! Silly me! I went through years of weird thoughts! w*****r!

Hope he gets what's coming to him!

Great to hear you caught one of these dirty *******, my daughter is 7 and also very good on a computer...... when people like this get caught often they get caught for a lot of other stuff as well.

Who knows, you could have also saved others as well as your own daughter

You can rest assured that sexual deviancy and child abuse is not part of the recruitment or training for the Navy, well not the Royal Navy anyhow.

What the police should do if this POS is guilty is stick the bloke in a room with a few Navy personnel and let them re-educate and rehabilitate him!

That is awful, I mean a f*cking ****ty Blackberry, needs to be an Iphone as a minimum.

Im joking, I really don't understand some men and what damage they are prepared to inflict to a child to get their jollies, not to mention the damage they do to their own life, never going to do your social standing any good pestering 15 year old kids on the internet for sex, bash one out on your own, go and visit a brothel but ffs showing kids your **** on a webcam is as low as it gets.

I don't think them being beaten up, though that makes you feel better actually helps, it means they become a victim, this is a job for the courts and they can do more damage than you ever can.

Had an update from the WPC investigating the case.

The lad in question was arrested and transfered from Scotland to a Police Station in Durham this morning. He is still in custody, but has not been interviewed yet. It's also been passed over to CID should know tonight if any charges are to be brought.
