Not to sure on the carby, protein stuff at the mo...

Its basically a bowl of mixed salad a bit of coleslaw , & some tuna. / dressing

Im trying to vary it so it dosent get boring,

TBH i'm not sure how the carbs / protien stuff works,

Its the bits in between that causes the problem.

i get massive munchies midway between the bowls of salad / meal

Ive tried the snackajack stuff, but they dont really do anything....

I could eat a whole pack and not feel full.....

Yet something with sugar in it and im fine??

looking to put some wholemeal bread / fibre into the mix to see if that will add some bulk.. and help

Its only day 3, so i'm guessing theirs some fine tuning to go

The problem with eating carbs is that it gives you blood sugar highs and then massive lows. The blood sugar lows makes you feel hungry.

If you eat a high protein diet low carb diet, you'll feel full for longer, and you'll actually feel like you have more energy.

I didn't believe in this "bollox" before (as I've had it hammered into me since childhood that you should eat loads of carbs, a bit of protein and definitely no fat), but actually I've been low carbing for a couple of weeks now, and I feel *great*. I don't ever feel so hungry that death feels imminent, and I don't get any cravings for sweets, cookies etc etc (the custard cream is my life long nemesis).

A couple of weeks back, I would have never recommended a diet book, but now I can't stop talking about it. Get the "Paleo Solution - the original human diet" by robb wolf - it really works.

I've already lost enough weight that my clothes are noticably loser.

Depends what sort of carbs you eat. Complex carbs give slow energy release.

You gotta eat some carbs.

I was sceptical about the paleo diet as I was always taught that carbs were good and fats are bad, but after following it I have never had so much energy. I used to rely on coffee to get me through the day now however I have one cup in the morning come home and still have plenty of energy for the gym.

I don't think I could manage without carbs. I go for the starchy stuff (pasta etc.), thankfully I don't have a very sweet tooth as well.

I will admit, I usually feel quite tired after meals.

yep, me too. I used to down 7-8 cups a day, and was always tired.

Now I have one cup of caffeinated coffee in the morning, and then I drink decaf coffee or herbal teas. My hot drink by the side of the keyboard is mainly a comfort thing now, not a need like it was before.

the o.p -

the worst thing you can do is read/listen to everybody chipping in there 2 pence.

you are you and no-one else s body works identiacally to yours

understand what a basic healthy diets is, understand healthy fats are essentail, not all carbs are bad and that protein really is the key.

your already tellin us your diet so far isnt working as between yous sald meals your getting hungry and snacking.

try putting some REAL peatnut butter on 1 snackajack -the protein and fats are slow acting so should help you feel fuller till nexy meal time.

monitor and adjust your diet as you go, and its effectivness.

as said before, fat burning excersise is essential, promotes muscle growth and can be fun with ear phones in and some motivatinal musci and endorphine realeses -will get you buzzing.

remeber not to think of it as a diet as such its just a whole new way of eating and being healthy -

a diet implies its a short period of effort, that will ultimatley end and you go back to your old way - thats yo-yoing and is really counterproductive,. youulitmatley risk loosing precoius muscle tissue and therefore decereasing your tolerance for amounf of food.

muscle is the metabolic factory in your body, which burns calories.

dont loos it through fad low carb/fat diets.

Re the snacking between meals, its just snakajacks im eating, nothing else ,..re peanut butter, i cant stand the stuff!!back to work today, i got to 10ish and had a low fat yhougurt, that took me through to midday...

busy afternoon, so i went through till 7 ish... just finished a big bowl of salad, so feel ok again.

Will have another low fat yog in about half an hour, and see what happens there...

Cut down on the coffee as well , only 2 cups a day at work so far!!

You could always change from carbs to more accurately controlled injection!
