When I spoke to Paul Tunnicliffe during my engine failure saga, I asked if I had fitted a Japan STI exhaust would it be under warranty, he said any JDM STI parts would not be covered????

I said to him that was just pure stupidity, STI built the car, and they make the parts, if the 2 are fitted together, how can it matter, they were designed to be fitted???

At least Pro-R will come with the warranty safe for upgrades which is very peace of mind, just hope they come up with some decent stuff.
Really? After all the engine failure fiasco's .

It's not a copy of prodrive in the slightest, the companys involved with the Pro-R range are superb, Unless your telling me that RCM'S input is worth nothing

They do a lot lot of top Brand names on board, like RCM, Alcon, Scorpian, AST and DOTz alloys to mention a few

I get why people are saying that Prodrive are world renowned but then so are subaru.

Pro-r is just the name they are setting for their tuning parts, all the companys they are using to supply the parts are world renowned such as alcon, superpro, samco, eibach etc, so i don't see why it couldn't be as good.

Just my two pence on it all.

RCM are a business? They also don’t sell many of these “great products you’re talking about” Come on Pro R is not the most thought provoking name. It also has Zero racing/ rallying heritage and their car (which I read they sponsor and don’t run) run in the club class?

I will stick with the very best parts available rather than a Pro R sticker thanks.

At least you get to keep a FULL warranty will Pro-R's products
Something that cannot be said of other suppliers.

Given that they are simply retailing other manufacturers products, surely they are simply abusing their position as Subaru UK in offering to maintain the cars full warranty for 3rd party parts bought from them?. If you bought the same exhaust that is on the Pro-R web site from elsewhere it would then void the cars warranty - seems unfair when all they are doing is retailing the product......

I think that's always been the case in everything you buy. buy from dealer and secure. Buy from flea bay, cheaper but not the security/warranty.

I take your point and its certainly true for fleabay - but if you bought these parts from a proper supplier, just not via the pro-r route, they would be the same parts, but no warranty....

There seems to be double standards at play.

I have to say though, for something which has taken so long, that website is shyte.

Now can anyone tell me which part I should order if I want Eibach springs for a 2008 STI(330S)

This part (PREBFE1001) mentions an STI, but only 2003-2007.

This part (PREBFG1000) mentions the 2008-2011, but not STI?

Not certain but didn't the 330s already have Eibachs already fitted maybe worth contacting a Dealer first IMHO

Ok I wasn't sure, thought prodrive did a suspension tweak, must have been just wheels and a remap

Pro-R is only a UK based company and trying to for fill UK Subaru's owners needs since Prodrive and Subaru parted company. IIRC

Not certain yet if all Pro-R bits are signed off for 3 year Warranty by Subaru UK yet

Thanks

I know full well who Pro-R is, but its just a shame that Subaru themselves have made another hash with marketing and promoting the product(s)
