Anyone know anything about this setup?
i.e. like when you're going to be trading and what they're trading?

Yes they are the official aftermarket supplier for Subaru UK. They also sponsor the Time Attack STI hatchback as driven by Jon Mathers (Owner of Crossroads Subaru Dealership)

Yes did put something up here a while back they are trying to fill the void left by the exit of Prodrive

This does seem a VERY interesting new development working along side of SUBARU UK but not exclusively UK cars though

There has been a void left by Prodrive as they have moved on to pastures new. Pro-R say with some very big and well known partener, their Tuning and handling ranges will fill this Gap. And If a UK owner you will still retain a 3 year UK warranty

It does look like they are getting all the right people on board As I did speak to Mike Wood, ex-Prodrive PPP and handling guru (if you own a RB5, P1, WR1, RB320 or 330s he would have had a very big input on them all) I also chatted to another "expert" Paul Cowland (trouser) from TSL Motorsport.

Although there WEB site http://www.pro-r.co.uk/ is not up and running yet you can enter your Email to be informed when Ready.

I'm hoping they will be competitive, but only time will tell

I don’t like the idea of just making a new brand name and selling it, Prodrive have a great history and pedigree and that’s worth the extra cost what do Pro R have ?

I agree, Prodrive are world renound Pro-r just sounds like a pro drive rip off if am honest surely they could of been a little more original.

Then theres the likes of RCM who have years of history including rallying and tunning not to mention time attack.

And if I wanted STI parts I'd be after the good stuff you get in Japan.

I guess with these guys having the backing of Subaru UK and there parts don't effect the warranty they will still do well. I wish them the best of luck ,but I just can't see Pro-R having the same pedigree as ProDrive.

Thats because Subaru UK have decided to launch there own tunning Brand.
Surely it would of made sense just to offer the same parts and supplies as you get in Japan via STI. I would love an original STI developed power pack handling pack brake pack etc as they do on the special editions.

I would have gone with SPT like the US, Pro R sounds like a copy of Prodrive

Its early days yet and difficult to give an opinion, until we see the quality of the goods and prices.

It amazes me that they publicly launch an idea, attend shows, put the word about but have no active website. Did they learn nothing from the marketing farce that was the CS400 ?. Whoever fronts the marketing side of Subaru UK needs a serious shake (and his / her boss).

Fingers crossed (but not confident).

I think the only saving grace is that Mr Wood is involved in the project.

aye, Mr Wood, the father that spawned the P1, RB5, RB320 and most of the other great Ltd Editions UK Subaru's

When I spoke to Paul Tunnicliffe during my engine failure saga, I asked if I had fitted a Japan STI exhaust would it be under warranty, he said any JDM STI parts would not be covered????

I said to him that was just pure stupidity, STI built the car, and they make the parts, if the 2 are fitted together, how can it matter, they were designed to be fitted???

At least Pro-R will come with the warranty safe for upgrades which is very peace of mind, just hope they come up with some decent stuff.
