Apple Stuff
I had Vista, but hated it, so now have XP on an intel MacBook, installed through bootcamp and they both run so smoothly. Found it a bit 'clunky' through parallels desktop but i just guess that's as i only have 2gb ram for the moment.
I've suffered Apple haters for years and CBA talking to them any more. I use both Mac OS and Windows in a print/graphics environment, and through many years of experience I choose Mac. Most Windows fans have hardly ever touched a Mac, and their opinions are a based on 2 minutes playing on one in PC World are like having a test drive of a Ferrari around a car park. Of course you'll find the clutch heavy, gear-change clunky, steering hard and visibility awful. Test it in its proper place and you'd no doubt be blown away, much like using a Mac regularly in a proper creative/productive environment. My now 12yo Powerbook was £200 more than a similar spec Windows machine at the time, but is still running and in daily use. How many people do you know with a 12yo PC ? Hence, my expensive Apple has proved to be cheaper in the long term ! Same story at work where our 10 G4 Quicksilvers were only replaced due to software requirements after 8 years, whereas the raft of office Dell's are recycled every 2. Our two racks of Dell Poweredge servers cost us about £20k a year for 24/7/365 technical support to keep them running our Prinergy workflow system, and we use the support a lot. A couple of Apple X-Serve's we use for other workflow duties have been in use for 4 years with no maintenance whatsoever. In my personal experience, the products do exactly what you need them to do, quickly and reliably, without fail and in a pleasant and enjoyable way. You do pay a bit more, but you do pay more for a Merc than a Hyundai, or for fillet steak over a beefburger. You pay more, but get better which lasts longer.
Cue a long list of PC people who will now refute my personal experience.

No argument from me. I have been in the industry (IT) for many years now and used both platforms. Personal preference is Mac purely because of how they work. But am used to both and in my experience the mac wins hands down everytime not just in overall cost, ownership and upkeep but in terms of reliability and support
I'm awaiting July/August and the launch of Lion, and hopefully some upgraded Mini's with Thunderbolt. Mini under the TV as a media server and general browser, plus an iPad for when others are using the telly. Might wait for the iPad as rumours of the '3' having a 'retina' display are getting stronger.
