From the horse's mouth - see lower down in interview with Max Rally:
Record breaking with Mark Higgins
Features10th June 2011
By Rebecca Jones
Q: If you could drive the circuit in any car, what would it be?
MH: Well, it would have to be a Subaru on Pirelli tyres! I suppose you could look at Le Mans-type cars, but really you’d have to design one especially for the course.

I bet he will get a JDM quick rack next time. Even I noticed the difference when I tested a UK 2011 320R

I do get Ander's point - the "it's 305 bhp" in their marketing spiel- although is it really surprising that a car manufacturer does that?
It would be pretty hard to say " it's a 2011 Sti (with the following list of largely safety related items etc)" Not so snappy when you're trying to sell cars really, and I don't remember anyone really taking any other manufacturer to task for the other little white lies down the years (with the honourable exception of Monkey Harris from EVO recently giving Ferrari a kicking for tweaking all their press cars from time immemorial)- all the way from the famous E-type doing 150mph on the M1 that no one else could replicate afterwards or the "completely standard" Skyline R32 doing the Ring in 8 mins.
305 to 350bhp isn't that much of a difference anyway - it's clearly the driver that is most of that performance as I'm pretty certain no one on here could get round there as quick even if they had 400 or 450bhp in the same car. Sits back and waits for the keyboard undiscovered top racers to react
My comment was actually in response to Barty who appeared still unsure as what it had been done to it, when all the spec is there for his info a little bit earlier in the thread.
