Bloody hell.......... is there a build thread? I had a 400hp bugeye, but that must be ludicrous!!!

I tried that felt tape stuff after taking that video, worked quite well but then another squeak appeared somewhere else.
Gave up chasing them in the end, I thought the more I pulled the dash around the more likely I'd introduce more squeaks.

Nice mate! Didn't you have a WR1 at one stage too? I had 6 subarus over 10 years, Hawkeye Spec C, WR1, 22B, Hawkeye Spec C Type RA a classic WRX and a Bug WRX.

These are a different beast entirely though.

Graham, looking sweet mate!

You'll have to let me know how you find the R888s on the road!
I was thinking Cup2s next, as MPSS appear difficult to get hold of.

As a purely road tyre, I would go CUP2s.... MPSS was a very good all round tyre, all weather, track, etc.

Im going R888 for the track aspect, dont do that many miles and want to get rid of the MPSS bounce

Ah right. My R35 is just a weekender with the occasional track/air field day, so CUP2s it is then!
I think the MPSS aren't too bad, done 2 track days & a few thousand miles & they performed & held up really well

The MPSSs were very good when I was doing so many miles on the road, but over the last 1-2 years I have slowly reduced the road miles and increased the track mileage and a lot of my road miles is getting to tracks and events.

I drive very calmly on the roads, so the R888s should be ok if I can live with the whine. If not, I will have to consider changing to CUP2s or getting a 2nd set of wheels with proper road tyres (not really a fan of having to carry 20" wheels and changing them all the time).

No, just a bit of lunchtime entertainment.... not sure it was even a 1/4 mile.

First run, I expected a much shorter countdown and the second I used launch control and the car bogged down

Small update.... after all these events and track days I knew I had to replace the tyres, so ended up torn between the MPSC2 and R888s. I went for the R888s and was blown away by their performance. That is obviously compared to worn out MPSSs, but WOW!!! MPSSs were a squared 285 setup and Im now on 285/325 which is the largest I can get onto my wheels.

Went to Thruxton and the bounce that I used to get in the fast sweepers is now gone! Loved it.... Im now being forced out of the seat and my butt is using the centre console to stay in place

Also went from 2011 gearbox software to the new Nismo stuff and that has just worked all the final issues out of the gearbox, especially when cold. Gear changes also feel faster

The MPSS are no good for anything other than pottering around town - no grip, too much side-wall flex

R888 are fantastic, also ok at legal speeds in the wet with at least 50% tread on them, only downside is a whine at 80mph crusie

Graham - you got 19's? 315 is largest 20" width?

Andy mate, long time.....

R888s are brilliant..... had them a little while now and even the whine is that bad, only really noticeable when off throttle completely, but they are brilliant on track

20s - GTROC has a dealer for them, good price and we get 285/325

With a move to central London at the beginning of 2016, it looks like I may have to sell the car Still looking at options on the storage front, but not sure.... A few things to sort before it really goes up for sale:-

Litchfield mapping - v5 and fitting of new intakes - booked for 4th Jan
Sly will then be servicing the car shortly after that (need to try and arrange for a windscreen replacement at the same time)
Then its off to get all the stone chips fixed (bloody Asda Day - will still go back)

Looking forward to getting my V4 ecuTEK updated to V5!

Who'd you get to replace your windscreen Graham & did they do a good job?
Also, genuine OE screen or not?
