Im not sure that applies in this case the add states good for up to 400bhp with the right mods unless its gone over that of course.

Well it seems this thread has done some good. I had pm from a fellow scoobynet member who'd arranged to buy a turbo from this guy but didn't go through with the purchase.

Hi there sorry to see your problems with 2011scooby123 but I just thought I'd share with you my conversation with the seller. Luckily I never paid for the turbos as I was posting a cheque. Hope it all works out for you & thanks for the heads up.
Kind regards John

Hello, after reading a thread on scoobynet regarding these turbos, I would rather not go ahead on with this transaction.
Hope you understand.
Kind regards, John

Ok sorry you feel that way. That scooby net thread was frm a fella who i sold a turbo to in march. He mapped the car to 450bhp and runnin anti lag on new vf 48. It wont handle that bhp and turbo faild. He sent turbo back in bits and wanted another 1or full refund. it wasnt my fault and i will not be refunding due to incorrect mapping. Ive sold over 20 vf48 with all good feedback there is always 1person that will chance there arm. The turbo are 100percent sound. Sorry that u feel u cant compleat transaction. I will be leavein you netive feedback as non payment of items. Hope you understand. Regards

Thank you John for sending this, it appears Greg is actively watching this thread but 450bhp?! I wish! Not even Bob's mapping talent could manage that..

You should be ashamed Mr Hume.. Do the decent thing.

This seller is obviously a complete and utter moron. How does he think that a VF48 would be capable of 450bhp.

I'd like to see him try and tell Bob what's he doing wrong, FFS the guy can't even spell the most simple words.

It's just a pity that the seller is a pillock, I hope you get your money back.

So what's the username of the guy on here then?

Funny how there's a load of 'brand new' vf48's for sale on ireland? Wtf is that about anyway.

These "genuine" VF48 are lucky draw i think, some will make power, some no..similar happen few people with eBay "genuine" 16G,20G.
But in my view avoid these turbos, genuine or non.

Bugeyejohn.........

I guess the statement is "with supporting mods", if the buyer does not have the correct supporting mods then the test in law fails..

On the balance of probability Bob Rawle could have mapped it to within an inch of it's life so that test fails...

Bolam test also fails so seller wins hands down !

Shaun

What supporting mod could be missed to achieve the 312bhp which is what its mapped to that will cause turbo failure,if it was mapped to its limits why such low power buyer wins imo but we will see.

Bugeyejohn

Supporting mods could include nitrous, methanol, change of engine......caveat emptor applies IMHO

sadly in contract law seller wins as he provided the item as described IMHO

Not really as described or fit for purpose - a 20 mile old turbo with the impellor able to touch the housing.

Seller stated in the dispute comments he would replace as long as it hadn't been fitted incorrectly - which it hadn't, now he changes his mind.

FMIC, cleaned 440's, Magnex headers, Harvey up-pipe, 3" exhaust & a VF48 altogether producing 312bhp

...and breathe

"Good news. We issued you with a full refund of £565.00 on 01 Jun, 2011. The refund includes the purchase price plus original P&P and has been credited to your PayPal account. Please log in to Paypal and view the history page if you don't see it in your PayPal balance.

Decision:
This case has been decided in your favour."

Thanks for everyone's input, it's very much appreciated!

I just don't understand why he just didn't ship out another turbo as they're apparantly costing him just £380..

just a matter of time before these ''sellers'' buy good turbos from genuine sellers, say the turbo has failed and claim a refund then sell on to others as Paypal always side with the buyer now.

Ive has buyers send me back there old damaged panels trying to claim refunds for parts Ive sent them. I sign my parts with magic markers though.

Apologise for what? I didn't say it was you, someone said there was someone on here selling vf48's and I pointed out you were but I did say might be coincidence, hardly an accusation. More an observation! I then went on to say 'it isn't the seller?' expecting a reply from the OP but he never replied to me.

If I'd of said.. "Here's the guy that sold it to you" then you'd be perfectly within your rights to have a go, but I'd not do that without proof.

Anyway, where are you boys in NI getting all these turbos from? Rally car preps or something?
