Unstoppable is based on a real life incident of an unmanned runaway. In the film the train was 777 but in real life it was CSX8888. Although in real life it only got about 5 miles at about 30mph.

I think both films only work in cinemas where you get more engrossed into a film. The first would have been not too bad in the cinema.

I dunno but I think Battle of Los Angeles has to take the award for worst film. My mate bought it mistakingly thinking it was Battle: Los Angeles. Absolutely awful film and we watched less than 10 mins it was that bad. Read some of these reviews on IMDB - just for a chuckle:
