There is one around Derby. The owner used to go to same gym as me. But yeh, a rare piece of history.

PRV-V6 engine. Primarily Renault but I think Pugeot and Volvo had their finger in the pie (so to speak).

Besides, Renault and Volvo and large affiliations back in the day.

Mainly Renault: but sourced via Volvo.

Almost all of Volvo's engines during that era were outsourced, mainly via Renault.

Yes, you could put in a 5 GT turbo unit into a Volvo 340 if one wished, both had the same pushrod 1.4 unit (and OHC 1.7)

I've owned one of the last Ambassadors - from March 1984 - a 2.0 HL Automatic. Usual problems on the body-work are evident (wheel arches and door rust, but all mainly surface not deep), but the interior is very spacious, as is the engine bay.

Automatic model works very well for it's age, and I've found the car to be surprisingly economical. Shape is striking (chap I know mistook it for a DeLorean at first!), and she'll still turn quite a few heads.

There can't be a huge number left - a good classic for the future, I think.
