Okay cheers lee, just to update the thread actually phoned the seller off this car last night and from our phone call I would certainly say the guy seems 100% genuine !! unfortunatly somewhere along the line lies have been told !!

did advise me that he bought the car 6 weeks ago and that he paid 5200 for it, asked him how many owners 4 I think reminded him it was 7 plus the two who never actual registered it in there names before selling !!!!

also advised me that the car was bought not knowing it was a cat d car and that the first he knew off it was when I kindly pointed it out to him !!! now that is fine people get conned every day in buying a cat c or d car unknowingly but to be honest things just never checked out with the advert from the very start

1/ Too cheap - dont see many uk wrx cars with PPP and a low mileage for sale at 4k that was even before he claimed to not know regards it being cat d
2/ left out how many owners the car had - 7 + the two who did not register it before selling !!
3/ owned the car for six weeks without registering it before selling ??

the list continues and I mean continues !! at the end off it was offered the car at just 3k which I may have considered as again it does look a nice car but given the fact that the car has been viewed and found to have been very badly repainted for one !! and its in my mind why comes so many owners in such a short space off time ?? lastly why did he not register it within the six weeks off owning it himself.. something is clearly wrong with the car and although it would certainly still seem to appear a bloody good price there is certainly more to come out about this car.

to top it off it would seem it does not even boost right !! not boosting in 3rd gear ?? whats that then ??

still no one know the car - lg55ksx stockport - cheshire / was showing as having a private plate in 2007 for a year.

I really can't understand why you're still even considering this car TBH.

I know mate keep asking myself the same question !!! at 3k its just seems to be too good to be true.. yes it is I know !!!

if it had been repaired properly and never had any engine issues and perhaps a few less owners than the 7 registered ones and the current owner had actually registered it himself and it was in wrb instead off grey and had nice gold 18" alloys then the 3k would have been in the guys pocket now !!!

nope as said before its not the one for me so will " move on .. nothing more to see chaps " !!!

P.S the private plate it wore bewteen 2006 / 7 was " W100DNG " and not " AV00IID " as expected !!!

Default Old thread but this was my old car bought from new and WRITTEN OFF

Old thread I know but just found this and thought I would fill you in with some history and piece some of it together.

This was my car bought new by me

2007 at >70 mph clipped rear buried me into the centre res on the m20 then across all lanes into the hard shoulder barrier- ouch

Anyway car immediately wrote off extensive front end damage

I bought a new STI and was happy to not be injured.

Within 6 months it was on ebay as CAT d from a break in and interior damage with a scalpel- or similar bu11****- no mention of nailed at >70 on the motorway, etc. I got that pulled from ebay

but obviously lots of people have had it since

Just shows there are lots of scammers and you've got to dig the history and trust no-one...

#############
Anyway, Hope you're all well and I've been itchy for a RB320... bored of my sensible BMW...

that advert might aswell have a massive sign saying dodgey on it. 7 owners and cat d and the guy never knew . nothing wrong buying a cat d i would never buy a cat c out of choice but cat d is ok. but going by that advert DO NOT BUY. the car is waiting for the scrappers

cat d can sometimes put owners on a car by 2 but the other 5 who owned the car obviously never liked it i would especially never buy a sports car without service history and few owners for a bit piece of mind
