Tony why does someone asking you to buy creme eggs warrant a thread?
From what i have read in the past on SN your occupation and obvious excellent wages you recieve you could probably buy the petrol station.
Why moan over a £1?
You should be out spending to boost our poor economy.........

As others have mentioned, it's not just Shell. I fill the car up at BP and Total and you get exactly the same offer of various chocolate eggs/sweets. Though it comes across as their embarrassed to say it at 7 in the morning
and that their made to ask everyone.

I have noticed that too they can be a bit pushy, and yes all the english staff from all the shell garages in my area have been replaced with non british staff, and the goverment wonder why us true british can't get work. Is it any wonder that we are getting ever increasingly P1553d of with immigration, now stick that on your notice board mr goverment
.

Perhaps they don't employ the 'true british' because like you they can't read or write properly.

Whilst I fully endorse your sentiment about putting the indiginous people first. It may be the 'darkies' employed are the only people wiilling to do the job for the recompense provided. Let's face it NMW to peddle chocolate to a load of sour faced punters isn't exactly a glamorous vocation.![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)

Usually young lasses in the two Shells here Maz. Not exactly lookers (unless you're into the Quasimodo/Michelin Man look) but I'm sure a quick sniff of the purchased fuel goods would see any 'slight' mutations ignored

haha, I just read through this thread, and makes me chuckle. I couldn't really care less who stands behind the till in a petrol station, because I walk in, pay for my fuel, say no to any special offers, and then leave. takes about 30 seconds. not sure it really warrants a 2 page thread...

As long as I can make payment etc. I don't really care who it's to.
I can understand how being asked if you want stuff can be annoying though, a simple no and move on normally does it. Where I work (not a petrol station) the cashiers have to ask..currently..if a customer wants a bag, stamps, phone top-ups, and I'm not sure now we have the lottery installed if they have to ask about that too
![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
Mind, it's better than it was, as they were supposed to ask (added to the above) if they wanted saving stamps and they had to individually ask if they wanted each of the bags we had available.

It's annoying for customers, but believe me, it's annoying for staff especially when it's heaving and you're having to **** about with a list as long as your arm of possible items on offer, and putting up with the attitudes of some customers along the way. The staff are only doing what they are told they have to do, so take it easy on them. (not you Loco)
