Hi Tazz, can you PM me if you get a moment, exhaust arrived with a massive crack in it, and the baffle is loose inside

That's a bit harsh! He went into a contract with parcels2go not you so its tazz who should be sorting it. Bad show mate and one way to earn a bad rep.

He told me to. To see if the baffles gone?! Fitted it and blows very badly. Baffle rattling and tail pipe not round! He's offered me 50 to keep it but exhaust is worthless so a little confused on what to do! I presumed the shipper took responsibility. Obviously not

Can you post up some pics of the crack ir describe where it is? How well packaged was it when it arrived and did it look like it could be damaged on delivery?

Sorry i did not see you replied, its a crack on the box itself, a big one and a massive dent is on it also, as well as the end pipe being not round, and something is moving about in the exhaust, i was told the baffle might be gone I put it on, but it was really badly blowing, i have been told by a friend they can weld it, and pack it out to maybe stop the baffle rattling - but they said i would be better buying another one.

Tazz has offered me £85 if i send it back - which is £50 less then i paid for it , but i have emailed him to ask for half the money to be refunded (£65), and i will keep the exhaust and see what i can get done with it

Bit of a ****, but these things happen, not really sure where i stand to be honest

Hi all, this has only just come to my attention. The exhaust been damaged in the post and was not cracked wen i sent it. I did show pics wen the exhaust was on my car. I would definately not have an exhaust on my car which is blowing and rattling. Lagamorph also heard my exhaust wen it was on the car, i also took him for a drive in it and he did not mention anything about rattling or a blowing which im sure he will confirm. The point about me asking scoobyross to contact the parcel company is simply because i thought he was the 1 who had to deal and complain about a parcel being damaged. I was obviously wrong so contacted them myself but unfortunately cannot claim as they want pics of wen parcel was packaged which i did not have. Also scoobyross paid ten pounds postage which only covered upto £50 on insurance. Because the parcel had been damaged in the post i cant really offer him a full refund and be left with a damaged exhaust. I would not and have never sold a dodgy item which can be confirmed by various people on this forum that i have sold items to.

I'd refund full amount.

I know it is the parcel company at fault but if they refuse to pay (which is out of order) then had I been the one who chose that company to use and as the seller, I would take the hit and not leave someone up the swanny. It does suck but I have done it.

Be fair to the fella, do the right thing.

Hi there, i will put pics up shortly once this is sorted. I not once believe it was sent like that, to be honest it does not matter.

The issue is sorting the problem out - it was upsetting to get a reply saying its not my fault, you sort it. Now we are in communication and you are at least trying to resolve the issue its a bit better

I have asked for half of the money back, and i will either get someone to bodge/weld the exhaust back together as best as they can - to be honest i would rather send back and get a full refund, as its not really worth much to me at the moment - but i have only been offered £85 back if i send it back, minus the £10 it will cost me to send it back , not sure why i should lose £60?

And regarding the £10 i paid for postage, this is all you quoted, and not sure why this is an issue, as you said they will not even allow you to claim the £50 back which is odd

To be honest it should have been packaged a lot better, so if it was damaged in the post i can understand why

Anyways hopefully we will sort this out and thanks for all your help people - i think next time i will buy new or from someone local

Regardless of the parcel company, the issue of you buying goods private or retail is still the responsibilty of the seller to provide you with the goods he had advertised if it arrived damaged because of poor packaging it shouldnt be your problem! either the goods you were expecting should be sent or money back (minus postage costs).

I am local to Tazz and chose not to buy it as it wasnt to the standard I had expected it to be (I have uber high standards), even so it wasnt cracked/split and no rattle from baffle.
If Tazz chose to send it without sufficient insurance that is his own fault not yours. I can only guess you didnt sign for it damaged which to be honest doesnt matter as with most parcel companies electronic signature pads this is impossible anyway and so the only action that could have been taken is to refuse it. Tazz could argue to the parcel company that the driver would not wait for you to unpack the item to check its condition not that they would allow this without signature first anyway but I doubt they would give in and especially if it was packaged poorley (again the sellers fault).

Im not trying to stir things up here but I pay to use this for sale section aswell and if its knocking the confidence of people to use the for sale section it directly affects any of my own future sales!! so do the right thing and refund the guy!

Thanks, am just waiting for a £65 refund, gonna try and get someone to open the exhaust up and see if they can fix the baffle and then weld the hole!? anyone know of someone who is good at welding stainless steel!? - i have managed to straighten out the pipe by putting a cone inside it and playing around with a mallet! Better then sending it back and losing £50 i suppose, lol - some pics off the crack/dent as asked for:

How are we suppose to know if that is the backbox you bought of Tazz? It can be any old backbox. Why dont you put a proper picture of the complete backbox.

Mate, as far as I know small claims court is about your only hope but its a long winded affair. Double check with citizens advice first. Shame he is so far away from you as I would have just paid him a visit as everything is so much easier to be an **** when your hiding behind a screen and people tend to bottle it when your face to face with them. Failing all of this I'd troll every for sale item of his and leave bad feed back on itrader. Other than this I can't really suggest anything else mate and a repair on that by a decent company would probably cost more than its worth!

I've got to say Tazz your being a bit of a **** to this guy!

Because i am not a liar, and i would not waste my time posting on this forum to be honest would i. Sorry i find that a little uncalled for to be honest - i took a picture of the damage so people to show Tazz, not sure what the end of the pipe which is not damaged is going to show?!

Ok thanks lagomorph , i will PM him a few more times and see what he says - i am going to the NEC shortly so might just leave it till then and drop it off to him for a full refund.

Not calling you a liar mate. If you put a picture up that only shows a tiny bit of the backbox it looks abit suspect.

Either way hope you get it sorted.

I was showing a picture of the crack/dent. I can show a full picture but not sure how this makes any difference as it still could be any exhaust.

Anyways still waiting for a reply from tazz!

I dont know how relevant this is to this problem, but I was interested in this exhaust, I emailed Tazz to agree on a price which we did. The moment I said, I'm local and that I will be cuming down to pick up the exhaust, he said it wasnt for sale anymore. Seems kinda strange to me!

Yes, Tazz is my younger brother's name. He used his name when signing up as he made the account to read up on subaru's when i was new to them, he had more free time than me to read up so it made sense. All the pm's i have sent and the posts on this thread are by me, the actual seller/owner.

No, it was not this exhaust but my old one, which was also a afterburner vortex, you can check if you like, go to my previous created threads. I was selling it because i had just sold my 2001 wrx and it was no longer needed. However i then decided to keep it for my blobeye Sti which i was looking to buy, but my plans then changed for it and i wanted to tune it to 450 bhp once i got it, for which a 3" system was needed. Because i no longer needed it, i sold it to midnight on here, who came down and collected it from me and has left positive feedback, which you can view if you wish. When i bought my Blobeye Sti, it also had a afterburner vortex cat back. so i sold the centre section to uk/wrx/ppp, also on here who also left positive feedback and the backbox to scoobyross.

So all in all, no not strange at all really.
