So unless you're in some kind of job where you can't take it off, the employer should recognise it as national holiday and close for business on that day.
If they 'make' you come in for no good reason - then they are flouting the law.

It's an official national public holiday: UK Public Holidays 2011
So unless you're in some kind of job where you can't take it off, the employer should recognise it as national holiday and close for business on that day.

yeh its all bollocks Tony, after all she has lived her entire life in a bubble right, how could anyone of EVER MET her?. She is a dignitary.....moron.
She lived in a tiny village called Buckleberry near Thatcham in Berkshire, we lived in Thatcham about a mile away. Her parents are now moving to avoid the press, there house is on the market for £450k. She went to school in Marlborough, my mate played in a band, and met her while on a gig in Marlborough; he is also honourably mentioned on the verve's album for his assistance, but wont be named here.
But hey You will of course be right again Tony; purely on the grounds of you being AWESOME.

Not interested in watching the wedding but I am quite excited that this could be a good start in people connecting with our Royal Family again as I do think Prince William and Harry are fantastic guys and will make Great Britain very proud of them as they mature in their positions.
I will be working on the day anyway as it seems that UK laws and rules do not apply once you enter the doors of my work.

Certainly won't be watching it, I could however be:
a) Helping the missus look after a baby that is only a few days / week old.
b) In the maternity or post natal unit at the hospital.
c) Cooking up a really hot curry and giving the missus a good **** in an effort to get the baby out.
Kind of hoping it will be option A as at least then I can be enjoying the sunshine (maybe) on my free day off, be out in the garden with a BBQ laden with meat, and having a few bevvies. Fingers crossed

I have no ill feeling towards the couple and I wish them well but I do object to how the monarchy is still revered in today's society.
I remember when all the shops shut for a period during Diana's funeral, I attempted to buy petrol in my local Tesco and the forcourt staff were present but had locked the door, fair enough I thought, I'll use the auto attendant pumps - but no, these were switched off too! When I asked why I was told 'we've turned the pumps off as a mark of respect'
How using an automated petrol pump is disrespectful I will never know

I'll be doing something similar. I'm booked on Mallory Park with about 6 mates for a track day on the bikes! Seemed a nice way to enjoy the extra bank holiday!

(PS SpecD scooby - it's her first house that's for auction at c.£450k, not her parents current, which would be £1.5m+, mind you it's great for local house prices )

Glued to my TV from morning till night, welcoming the new couple to the hearts of Great Britain.
Having ITV news mention some random half arsed comment every day just increases my excitement.
Fingers crossed the ginger stepkid gets pi55ed and tells the truth
Edit - you forgot "Only the sex vid on torrents"
