i had a fiesta rs turbo in 1994, one of the best cars i have ever owned, running a T34 with on cossie injectors and cossie pectel management, ect ect, it made 268hp and snapped gearbox mounts and drive shafts for fun, still loved it thow i guess that what makes them so infectious
i built a 1.8 zetec turbo cossie rep 10 yrs ago and even tho that ran at 290bhp it wouldnt do 160 and i had the mtx-75 td gearbox. i think the box in a rs is only good for 150mph at a very strong push but i could be wrong.
had a blue rs turbo with a turbotechnics chip in it. 175hp and it felt like it was a rocket ship (when you were 22). had some fun in that one.
saw a R5 turbo in white for sale yesterday £350. was almost tempted until i remembered what $hitboxes they where.

When I was a teen, these were THE car to have, unless you could go the whole hog and afford a Cossie!
About a year ago, I got to drive one. Owner (lovely guy) claimed 180bhp or thereabouts. He very kindly let me drive it and after about 1 mile, it proceded to p*ss all over my teenage longing for a Fast Ford. 25 years ago, it would have been a good car i'm sure, but now...... It was. well: shocking! The absolute worst thing was that a standard UK turbo would have run rings around it!
That's progress for you I guess. Never drive your old heros!

I stil have a soft spot for them though (and the cossies) they were responsible for getting me into fast cars and will always hold a place in my affection for that!

),then 2 x xr4 x4's(2.8/2.9).I never got round to buying an rs turbo
, probably due to buying a rs cosworth
,and i never looked back after that.In 1987 it was the daddy, and even now still love to see the old skool fords
I had a RS turbo mk 2 23 years ago and it maxed out at 140 mph compared to my xr3i which would do 120 ish
Lots of whistles and bangs and I had more problems with it then any other car ive ever owned
Put me off fords for life
Fantastic looking car though with a cosworth rear Wing bolted on and the seats were great

I had one back in the 90's
Usual mods, Exhaust,Filter,Chip etc
Quite a lively car if i remember rightly and used to keep my Mates brand new vr6 at bay which never went down to well seeing as he spent 20k
Mine was 200 bhp which was good back then for a 1.6 on mfi
I bought mine just as the Insurance thing of the day went down (you could'nt insure them cheaply back then)
I paid £2200, spend a grand on mods, kept it for a year and sold it for £3800 as they became the "inn car" when i sold it
All in all a good car, used to comute to France twice a week as well as do shows, meets and all my running around etc.
