Totally agree. Limited editions particularly should be standard, other than perhaps a PANEL air filter. As for the steering wheel, I would certainly think that puts many potential buyers off, not the LPG.

If you're already paying out on a loan anyway, then what difference does it make if you pay to the bank or to the finance company?

Reading this thread makes me think of the expression "you can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make it drink". *MOST* people will be hugely put off by the finance, even if it is easy to clear! By not clearing it, you're putting yourself in a really bad position, simply because it puts buyers off!

As for trading the car in for another car - isn't that even worse from a financial point of view? You'd end up in negative equity on the new car instead, which might depreciate even faster than the impreza, leaving you in a deeper hole.

Trading the car in is crazy, as said by Henrik, you'll be in a worse situation.
If the dealer has offered you £8K for your car then your obviously buying something which is worth much more than 8K. In which case you have to pay the difference. You don't have any cash so your gonna have to finance it again.
You want to get out of finance but your just gonna get in deeper. So in a couple of years time when you want to sell, you will be in this same situation again. It's a circle that finance companies don't want you to get out of.

Yes but I will be saving about £400 a month with reduced insurance fuel costs.
And the car dealership isn't financing it this time.
My fiancee works for Barclays so were taking out a loan where she gets a staff rate Granted he will have some margin in the car I'm buying that will compensate him for buying my car for 8k but isn't this how dealers work anyway.
I had a phone call last night from a potential buyer saying that he wanted to buy mine for my finance settlement and that he was happy to pay it in at the RBS and then half an hour later he asked if I could phone the finance company to swap the finance over into his name. Which tells me he didn't really have the cash so a complete timewaster and that's the reason I'm trading it in regardless as it's quick and simple

Outstanding finance on a car shouldn't put anyone off, as long as you are careful and cover your bases.

Car has gone today collected around 3pm and when it went i thought i would be sad but i was actually relieved and instantly thought about the extra £500 a month i will have,. went to the bank together which was 2 mins from my house, paid it over the counter and it was as easy as that,. i even gave him my garage full of all the subaru spares i had as they are of no use to me.
He came all the way from somerset and a nice chap, and hope he enjoys it.

Well done on selling your scoob. Reading these 4 pages has made me glad I left the uk, you lot are really full of doom and gloom, oh no one can afford cars at that price, no one has got money any more etc, etc. It's depressing reading stuff like that, if the car is worth the £8k asking price it will sell for £8k. There's no wonder the uk is in the **** with people being so negative all the time, if people started being positive then this would pass on from one person to the next and things might start looking up!

Well done Rick, as I said it was just a matter of finding the right person who wanted your car, tell them to take good care of my bumper.
