we seem stuck on £165. dip deep people you may find a spare £1 you didnt even know you had

£1368 would be the total if everbody who has viewed this topic donated £1 Unfortunatly we only have about 25 people who have donated. This thread will keep going for the next few weeks anyway so anybody wants to donate at a later time can. Il put up the amount raised at the steelers final home game of the season also so we know the running total of our efforts.

Finally verified my PayPal acct, all sorted and donated.

It would be nice if you could verify the fact it's a charidee and PP drop their charges, or donate them to the cause.

Best of luck mate

You HAVE to use a bank account.

They won't even accept a bank acc.-linked debit card (or a credit card)... It has to be a reg'd bank acc. number (prob. Verfied too!).

Cheers Joz, I never knew that, as I have 2 accounts linked, one CC and one Bank, both are verified, usuually use the Bank account for sales and the CC for buying obviously selected the wrong one last night, what a tit .

A very helpful point to make though, especially if there is anyone thinking of donating and hadn't already.

Yeah - it's a bit annoying. But at least if you do have a bank acc. set up, then - in harness with the "Personal" tab's "Gift" or "Personal payment owed" options - you can get round said fees.

This is a legitimate cause and many people are already involved in helping including Nikki Sanderson (ex coronation street actress) who was in Barnsley town centre collecting with a bucket along with a group of volunteers others last Saturday. I have 2 children myself and I cant imagine what her parents are going through right now.

Just an update also the task is now harder as the NHS have refused any funding to help with this and initially it was thought they would pay part of it but not all. The amount needed is now the full 70k.

Look I know I will get shouted at for this, but it makes my blood boil that the NHS can't or won't (who knows which) help pay for this while millions are being spent elsewhere.... I am sure you get my drift We need to start getting our priorities right in this country

Which Primary Care Trust refused the funding? I work for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies going - £70k wouldn't even register on the accounts. Can't promise anything of course as I'm a very small wheel but I do deal with the big hitting finance guys (and have done for 10 years)
