Probably sprayed it and its flaked off due to lack of primer/sanding.

I once sprayed mine (along with other bits) with chrome spray. Looked great. Problem is the Plasti-Kote doesn't seem to like the fumes+heat in the engine bay and it went all manky within six months.

Tried it again with etch primer, no effect, tried it again with a clear-coat laquer...it reacted. So I ended up fetching it all off and respraying it with matt-black cellulose based paint.

I'd be looking for an as new car as I could, definitely a facelifted one. I'd only be after a uk car as well unless I was getting a type r or some other special edition. Manky pre 97 cars are best left alone.
