You can get them a lot cheaper, that was just easy to find. The other option is to weld in some flat bars to mount the side mounts to

I take it he can do body work if he does wheels as It's a few chips on the bonnet that I need sorting mainly but a door crease has delightfully been added by some chump in a jeep. Will drop him a call Ricky thanks

I can't find any at the moment, but the ones I have I have seen for about £40 new. Could make something similar with a decent thickness metal strips

Nice choice on the seats Ricky. I managed to get 2 x Imola Pro KEVLAR in black off eBay for the Mini. Unused with Cobra rails!

Keep watching eBay mate, good buckets come up all the time and you may find something rare if you're only after 1.

Hi Jon,

Do let us know how you get on with the single a-pillar. If I choose to get gauges I'd prefer it to be in the a-pillar. And to know that the depo 4 in 1 does all monitoring in one gauge its very handy (and the fact Ricky has one).

And I have one, nearly fitted

Not seen a reasonably priced a-pillar pod yet, at least not in 60mm

Not fitted yet Ash, still deciding on fixed or rails?
Matt those 2 Imola Pro's for £330 with mounts is the bargain of the century!! I thought I did well @£220 for 1. .....just re read it & they're in Kevlar not fiberglass!!!!!!!!!

Out of intrest mate what's the advantages of having it fixed. Other than making sure Guv don't get behind the wheel

Ricky - yeah, that was weeks of eBay trawling. I was looking for yellow carbon/kevlar weave but most that came up were in poor condition. If I ever end up getting another Subaru they'll probably come out of the mini! Red will be cool, would you not be allowed a pair for the passenger too?

Ash - Fixed is a lighter, sturdier mounting point, but you then can't move the seat back or forwards, gotta be sure you've drilled the holes in the right place first time!

Any joy with this Jon? a-pillars arent that expensive are they. Does the depo only come in 60mm or is there a smaller choice available.

whats the exact model of the depo gauge please, and where did you or Ricky get it from?

Ash, as Matt said there are advantages such as being sturdier fixed than on rails. But for me the main advantage will be a lower mounting point fixed than adding rails. I think the driver sitting lower down, with a lower centre of gravity is a good thing, especially in the newages. But if there is hardly any difference in height than I will just go with the rails I think.

Matt not sure if I will get another matching seat as Im going for the JDM track look with exposed dash fitted gauges, differing driver bucket seat, Bronze Rota wheels, JDM angled Fujitsubo exhaust, Tein Monoflex Coilovers & eventually a roll cage & maybe some Endless or Project Mu brakes!! (But they're rarer than rocking horse poo, so may end up with Performance friction 2 piece discs!!)

Chet, this is where I got mine from but I think John found a UK seller:
http://www.elise-shop.com/high-preci...f6c080bc78a475

ps I dont think Guv will fit in my 34" waist bucket seat!! lol

Hi Ricky

As above if you don't need adjustability then I would go with fixed,we are running adjustable and worth the extra for them.

Great plans on yours Ricky you have must admit great upgrades

John I've still 60mm A-pillar gauge pod,which is flocked

Just got the car back from Hughberry who did the drivers side rocker cover gasket again as it started dripping the last time. They also checked over / road tested the braking system inc calipers as I was a bit concerned before Caldwell Park and I also forgot the handbrake on over the winter period for 3 weeks! Obviously the handbrake seized onto the discs Also checked over suspension and found a lose drop link that I had faffed about with before!

All done and they wouldn't take any money, Steve said rather than giving him something for a drink, better give it to Great Ormond St Hospice for which he and his daughter were raising money. So I gave him £25 which he stuck in his daughter's collection box. Can't ask for better than that in this day and age..

You never know what might happen at Cadwell Park! lol

Is that a dent in your bumper Ricky or just the light. At least stickers aren't cross threadable

I've been informed this type of wheel painting doesn't last very long, when compared to proper sand blasting and powder coating?

Wheels look great mate.
