As you already know I am a tightass moftee styles so I shan't be doing all four wheels!! lol

The wheels arrived today and they all are brand new But after looking at the Rota Force Bronze it is lighter than e.g. the JDM forged Bronze wheels. I think Mazda 23f if a good match for JDM deeper bronze wheels, but these Rota Force bronze are lighter, slightly greyer shade.

So the other option was Mazda Driftwood 11b paint code and after looking at this thread I think it would be a close match. Just requires an extra coat or two of colour & laquer for a better match. This thread below helped a lot (post no 896)

http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-f...ck-car-23.html

Left is mazda 11b paint & right is original Rota force bronze paint

Couldnt take another day of holiday inactivity & boredom so thought Id do a few bits on the car

Little tighten up of the return to sump fitting as there was a slight drip. Then the not so task of lying under the car while fitting a new section of heat wrap & tidying up the deteriorating old wrap. Quite a good 1.5 hour arm & shoulder work out Was going to fit the undertray but the fittings were missing so will do another day once they arrive.

Catch can recently modified for return to sump

Next job to do is fit my 4 in 1 Gauge

Same side, as no space on other side due to washer bottle & intercooler spray bottle. But have routed the braided hose away from the hot up pipe & turbo etc and come around the front & then down to the sump in a U -shape. (have reveresed the 1st pic properly now so easier to make out).

Iv also noticed there is still a leak with the drivers side rocker cover gasket so will have to take it back again to sort out in new year.

give me the rims and ill paint them fool , you will be fecking around trying to match colours , buying paint , more fecking around , i could have it done in a week at minimal cost without such a hint of a crossthreaded bolt

Are you sure it's not just residue from the old job. Make sure it's been triple bonded and if it is still leaking make sure the rocker is true and hasn't been twisted from being over-torqued which is similar to cross- threading

Jura: Gauges should be easier....... as I will try to enlist the help of our MSOC electrical guru JohnMC!!

Mantaz: Rocker covers on the hot side always seem to be a PITA

Maggy: I want them in sexy Bronze & they cant do that colour unfortunately. But I have got my Chipsaway mate seeing if he can find Mazda 11b. Though the cost of painting two will be not much less than powdercoating all four

Budgie: I shall keep my eyes & ears open for such a thing locally

John: Rocker may not be true on the hot turbo side, who knows. Wondering what to do about that? Will see what Hughberry want to do.

Hi Pete

Do you want powder coating or just paint them?

If powder coating this company should help you

http://www.powdercoated-customcarpar...k/contact-msb/

If painting, then have look for POR15 POR-20 heat resistant paint, which will hold the 760°C

Something like this should help

http://www.frost.co.uk/por15-por-20-...ant-paint.html

Hi Peter

We have similar problem before, when our brake callipers has been painted just normal colour and after track day paint started to bubble and Ryan suggest us paint the brakes callipers with VHT paint, which should withstand the heat

Really speak with Ryan,I'm sure he will help you with yours

Thanks to JohnMc for fitting my Depo Racing 4in1 gauge today. You can imagine the attention to detail & quality of John's work with him being trained in Aeronautical Electronics etc! It was so meticulous and thorough in every step you'd think he was disposing a bomb or something!!

I think it works quite well

I must admit the quality of the DEPO fittings was excellent and certainly made the job easier. I have to say I was so impressed that I am going to get rid of my 3 individual gauges and get one of these to compliment my PSI3

To all the non believers who said it cant be done.....

My friend from Chipsaway, (Parvinder Tel 07832129138) came to my work today & in a couple of hours did a pretty good job of spraying two wheels. Back as well as front, painted & laquered. I gave him the paint code of Mazda 11b after researching, which he had on his system & mixed up the paint accordingly. After seeing the wheels I would say they are 95% match, the new colour being a fraction darker. But they are still not dry so may get lighter. Though it is near impossible to get a 100% match, even when spraying bodywork you end up sparaying e.g the whole side of a car instead of just one panel. Overall it is beter than I had hoped for.

Can you get these depo 4 in 1 gauges to fit in a single a-pillar pod?

I don't see why not. I've just picked up the same gauge and I'm looking at the a-pillar option although the difference in positioning compared to where we fitted Ricky's will be minimal - it might just look a little tidier

These retail from £340 to £400 plus another £100 for the Cobra seat mounts. Weigh just under 8kg and perfect fit for me at 34" at the narrowest on the seat.

Looks a top job mate, would he travel to Windsor as I need one or two chips and dents looking at and trying to find a trusted / recommend guy is nuts. Or could he suggest someone nearer to me, you think he would mind me dropping him a call?

Steve, he doesn't really do dents but very good with wheels. He lives near Uxbridge I think so will definitely travel to Windsor. Just give him a ring and tell him Ricky from Hindes Hotel recommended him, should give you a good price.
