I thought the whole show was superb. The transit was funny, the Ferrari was sex on wheels and the rallying was a petrolhead's dream.
I assumed the rallying was not normal Stig and a WRC driver to be that good but would like to know who (whether WRC or not).

The stig in the rally car was no race driver , race driver can't drive rally cars , there too clean with there lines , I'd say it was Alister McRae as he drives for Proton.
To be a rally driver first you must learn to drive looking out of the side windows , and then remove your brain

+1 It would take a racing/tarmac driver quite some time to be that confident to drive a rally car like that.
A rally driver in a stig suit me thinks. You can tell when there are different people playing the stig as his body size/build looks different.
Definately an experienced rally driver, The wheels were pointing in the right direction on that jump before he`d even taken off

Stop watching it then FFS
As for Steve Coogan knowing anything about comedy that is highly debateable as I find him about the least funny 'comedy' i've had the misfortune to see on telly. So he really isn't the comedy God he thinks he is.

I quite liked JC's standpoint in his column in The Sun. Quite rightly, he pointed out that the Aussies have long joked that we don't bathe enough, the Americans think we all have crooked, yellow teeth, and the Italians consider us lousy lovers. However, we possess the ability to realise that these jibes aren't a slur on our nations pride, a defamation of our people, or any kind of racial attack to defame our culture, just humorous comments intended to provoke a smile or laugh. One reference he quoted was a classic Jimmy Carr line, 'The English cannot stand two things, racism, and foreigners'. Not the most offensive line Jimmy has come out with (we'll not mention the 'safety in numbers' one), but a dig at our hypocrisy and general intolerance as a nation. What I found more offensive about last weeks show was the poor content, but that has become par for the course. However, I best not continue down that route as it is forbidden to hold a negative opinion about Top Gear on SNet

Wow, little bit surprising to see that coming from Coogan, as I thought he was a right petol-head. Then again, you have to take into account where he was writing it

The same justifications were levelled recently regarding the Andy Gray debacle, pointing out that no-one minds when Jo Brand and the like denounce men as pathetic, worthless, feckless, lazy, wnakers. So it's OK to insult Britain and the British, but not for us to comment on other nations
so several people dont like it while millions do watch each week and enjoy it, additionally the BBC export it all around the world making millions of £.
Do you think they care about a few stereotypical jibes and a mostly not funny comedians column?
