What's the best headphones for around £120 ?.

Fud, you hit the nail on the head. They're great if you're a dj. They've established themselves as "the" cool brand for clubs, a great marketing triumph, well designed for that particular use. But in pure hi-fi terms they're about average. Depends what you're using them for really.
I have before at Czech Republic at my studio Stax Electrostatic Earspeakers,which borrow me my friend and sound has been mind blowing...
Yes Orpheus is overpriced and ridiculous,but looking great,which i cannot tell about STAX...

PS1000. Sublime if you ever get the chance. Look as good as they sound too.
Funny you mention Stax, i think i still have a pair of Stax Electrostatics too somewhere, they have their own separate mini amplifier. Can't for the life of me remember where they are, but they used to be good, except the earpieces were smooth leather and made your ears sweat, a bit silly really. They were pretty good quality too.

To small ear cover for dj's mate the above my bro been a dj all over the world for 20 years he said he has tried the rest and told me about these but as im not a d.j i have not used them enough they just sitting here..
Check out all the latest pop music videos they all use dre ear phones that im selling..For £120 they are easy bye far the best on the market in my mind but hey we have not all got the same way of thinking .

I never tried Grado these,some yes at one High End Hi-Fi shop at CR.
I cannot afford Stax(these which i have before at studio,now cost around £2.7k ) which i have before borrowed at studio,but sound has been just unbelievable and yes has been with extra amplifier.
Perfect for mixing music at studio....and listening music....Simply Great

I sold my Stax 4040ii signature system last year to fund a loudspeaker purchase. Judging by the price to replace them now, I shouldve just kept them and found the extra from elsewhere!

Goldrings are good but quality is very suspect of late, plastic breaking on the headband seems to be a common one, some say goldring have cut too many corners.
Grados are nice but very fragile, and of little use if dj'ing is their intended use.
As for the beats very overhyped, they're good but nothing special.
Ultrasone is another contender that has a good following.

I think the only thing i can find fault with the RS180, is the curved bit is made from plastic (could be tougher for next RS model ).But other than that 9/10 from me.Works with everything, that has audio out & headphone sockets (game consoles too).One of my best buys.Currys are blummin expensive.
