Sourced a local company today to weld me a threaded socket onto pipework of fmic to take the o2 sensor as I'm running a simtec ecu , this has to be welded onto the aluminium pipe should only cost me £20 or so.

The intercooler is fine but the pipwork is sh*t !
Fitted the coilovers tonight ready for dropping back on its spare wheels,so i can move it onto ramps to fit wishbones and antilift kit ,drop links etc..
K sports should be arriving soon ! hopefully !
Removed the front fog covers ,fog lights number plates front lights, grill and front bumper ready for fmic install.
Need to remove factory sunroof tommorow so i can remove roof skin ready to spot weld new one (without sunroof).

sunroof was removed today and left a big hole so roof skin is coming off to make easier access for weld in cage.
There's a good 25kg there stuck in the roof so that's now gone to make way for new roof skin.
Intercooler pipework i bought is fit for the bin ! and need to locate some that will fit as it should do.
When i removed the front bumper after taking all front lights and indicators off i noticed the front bumper support bar was to far rotton so i need to buy a new ,dont think these are to expensive but need it done to support fmic.

coilovers and spare wheels mean it can now go onto ramps for wishbones ,droplinks, anti lift kit and arbs, then clutch and flywheel as i also removed the intercooler so easier access to gearbox .

All sound deadening is now removed just the final clear up of all the residue thats been left behind using a hand grinder and flappy disc as iv'e got the rest of the week off work so 3 days in the garage for final preperation before the car goes to custom cages for full fia roll cage.
Still need to locate new fmic pipework as mine is crap and wont fit !
after cage has been fitted full interior respray in white will take place including cage.

Nice project you got going there, once you start, you wont stop! Have to admit, it does get really enjoyable tinkering on a scooby, its pretty much a hobby! Cant wait to see it more as your project progresses and all the parts start to fall into place.

Cheers lads, I think once i get passed the stripping and preparing stage the rest will be even more enjoyable, but the more i take something off the more i learn.
Once the inside has been preped and the new cage is welded in and the interior sprayed white giving me a blank canvas then to work too as im a neat and tidy guy and like things just right.
The bonnet is going into spray next week, as i took off my old heavy steel one and purchased an alloy one ,its going to be sprayed satin black so think it will give it an aggressive look with the dark blue also it'l have a reverse scoop but i'm keeping the reverse scoop and the bonnet vents 95h blue .

I tried fitting the pipework todat for fmic and satisfied myself that it aint going to fit so need to buy from reputable company.
once i had the new bumper beam bolted into place after a little butchery with a grider i started to cut the bumper to fit one word nightmare, i was armed with a small hacksaw and a large hacksaw blade still needs tidying up but got there in the end

Took the front and rear glass out today with cheese wire kit quite easy really only took 10 mins each time, started drilling out spot welds that hold roof skin in place ready for roof to come off that gives custom cages easy access to fit new cage.
Located new autobahn88 pipework so ordered that to finish fmic install .
Looking forward to getting it back ready for interior spray then I can start putting it all back together .
