I just want to get the running in out of the way as quickly as possible, driving like a nun is as frustrating as f*ck.
Well I've been for another drive this evening down to Haverfordwest and back via Pembroke Dock and the mileage driven so far is 420 miles, so it'll be having an oil change at the weekend.

Si took three years to do his 500 not three days.

Steady Eddie that's me.
I'm just looking forward to being able to get it back at full power ASAP, plus if I don't pile on the mileage over the bank holidays I'd never get it done.

It will mean that the engine can be worked harder (allow the piston rings to bed in) rather than at the moment where it is not under any stress, the bedding in process on a forged build from what I understand is a longer process than on a standard engine build.
It will have an engine oil change at 450 miles, 1000 miles, 1500 miles and then at 6000 miles where it will be back onto fully synthetic engine oil.
Once the running in map is applied it will run with that until 1500 miles after which the final map will be applied.

The car had it's oil change today and the oil was clean as a proverbial whistle, I can't wait now for it to have the running in map applied so I can start to get it back to it's fire breathing best.

I've checked the oil dipstick a few times during the running in, and the oil was dropped it was literally like it's just been poured out.

I had the running in map applied today by Bob Rawle, the MAF scaling was way out due to the the APS induction kit and the APS FMIC didn't help either.
It now only builds actuator pressure boost so can only achieve 0.8 bar in short spurts but it makes the car more enjoyable to drive, and having now driven just under 850 miles (I took the very long route home via Gloucester, Chepstow, Abergavenny, Brecon and Swansea) it won't be long until it's ready for the full map.

A little bit of an update :
I've sourced a Simtek (with AL/LC enabled ) and a Litchfield LM400 Billet turbocharger.
The turbo will be fitted on the next oil change and shortly after I'll take a trip to Bob for him to install and map the Simtek.

Thanks Rich, the turbo has just been back to Litchfield/Turbo Dynamics for the billet wheel to be fitted and had race bearings fitted and an overhaul while it was there.
