Raceland Coilovers feedback and possible Group buy.....
Sorry for delay, its all a bit manic at the moment with the shorter working weeks...and with the kids being off school prevented me working the bank holidays!!!!..
Ok Guys, here goes on my verdict.......
From ordeing with Mike at Raceland the service has been Superb
. I had an issue with one Shocker, however I emailed them direct a couple of times with the symptoms and they sent me another one out with me needing to return the one that failing a little, full tracking details too 
So the ordering out of the way.... Installation according to the Garage that fitted mine was same as any others bar the set up isnt "set up" and all the top mount nuts ome loose, so you will need to set all there up yourself, but its no Biggy, just soemthing the garage pointed out. So installation bar the failing unit was very good, and even with me running with the failing shock its absolutly fine (im just avoiding going air-borne). The replacement will be going on later this week or maybe next week...
The drive is very good, I was surpised the steering is much crisper and much more planted. My set up is sat quite low, but even with 4 people in today it was fine (I avoided speed humps). However Im normally a passanger-less driver so it doesnt bother me the car being sat low, I manage to **** the odd wheel when cornering at reasonable speed which is a good feel prior drift lol.
With the Racelands for me compared with the Standard STI Shocks and Springs its a definate must, I mean for the price you cant go wrong. If gor gerneral road use then your in for a treat with these, they are very good, and on budget price I would say they are not quite up there with top spec Coilovers, but they certainly arnt poor, nor do they offer poor feel to drive, or even look at if thats your thing.
Mine will see some track days, and as such hve only seen 1 Grudgement day where my Understeered badly, but this isnt down to the Racelands in imho unless im in denial. I was running with Eagle F1 Tyres and standard Anti rolls etc.... no after market braces etc. I will be entering SSO May 22nd, but this time with H Brace, Strut Brace, and hopefully some whitelines if I get chance with some better front tyres..... So we can see from there wahta happens, I mean I didnt expect to add soem coilovers to a full fat car with 400bhp and expect good times, but I was surpised to see so much understeer!!!
Hope this helps a little with my verdict, obviously my setup is still an ongoing project.....
I must add though, that a guy who has also bought a set via this thread has some knocking issues with his rear coils, and as such has tried his STI top mounts to see if this helps. I will ask him for his verdict and to post on here if he doesnt mind too

Rob asked if I would leave some feedback, so here goes. Contacted Phil at Raceland via email, he replied straight away with invoice which I paid straight away and coilovers arrived within a couple of days.
Inside the box are the 4 coilovers, 2 c spanners and 4 brackets needed. No instructions of any description,so for those that would like to fit them themselves make sure you know what you are doing.
fitting them was easy enough, although they dont come with any preset height or preload on the springs.
I've got the front camber set to 1.2d negative, the rears are not adjustable as you probably know.
I've got a bug wrx which had standard suspension set up on it which I found to be great at low speed absorbed the bumps etc but didn't inspire much confidence at high speed compared to other cars i've owned, too much roll and movement.
Haven't done that many miles yet but so far the car feels much more stable at speed and I am much happier when putting my right foot down on the twisty bits. I've read in other threads that they are bouncy which to some degree I do agree with, over rough roads they are slightly bouncy although nothing too major, on smooth tarmac they feel great.
Overall, remembering the price, they are a great piece of kit if your on a budget and don't need the flexibility of damper adjustment. I'm very happy with them. How long they last only time will tell!

any more news on these coilovers? good or bad? thinking of getting some, as i bought a second hand HKS setup and the rears were blown

I think they are very good for the money mate. I have a rear failure prior to install, but as I wanted to get them on the car I put it on anyway, then contacted Phil at Raceland and he sent me another one out within the week 
I think the right up from myself and Turboman above should cover most quries.

just wondering if you've had any more problems really, what was wrong with the failed one? and do you think they would be ok for an every day car? i think i heard somebody say that they have no adjustments other than height, is that so?

i now have mine installed, they are softer than the HKS i had before, but i have a pretty loud rattle from the rear, everything is tight ( top nut, 3 top mount nuts, bottom nut/bolts) has anybody else having this problem? the only thing i'm not sure about is the preload on the spring!

You pay for what you get, and to be honest for the mioney Im pleased at the moment, I was in a bit of a dilemma as my STI Struts were knocking prior to these, and I was in "four" minds what to do with the car, ie, keep as road car with occasional track use, strip for track, break, or sell on complete, so with all that in mind I made the right choice, and going forward I will be sticking with them until its time to change the car next year

Had these on my classic for a couple of months before i broke it down for parts. Was really pleased with them, they were every bit as good as my old D2 coilovers i had on before

i have spent the day taking the car apart and have found that the top mounts are rattling, i'll ask raceland to send me some new ones i guess, has anybody with these coilovers "not" had problems with rattling?????
if the new top mounts aren't any better maybe oem mounts!, has anyone been able to fit sti top mounts to the raceland coils? if so how??

The road below you can see a very small raise before it starts to anchor to the right, that raise causes my "clunk".....

Use your own top mounts on the rears and you'll be fine
Mine still clunk occasionally on the rears with there top mounts, no issues with the fronts at all. Ok they are a little bouncy, but nothing that would put me off.
For the price its definatly worth getting.

Im not sure, but I think I heard someone saying that they will fit directly onto the Front's, but do quote me. I dont think the rears are the same same setup though. Sorry I cant help much.

In laymen terms:
The shock is absorbed fine, and the ride is fine,and over standard STI shocks they are much better considering the huge amiunt they have been lowered. When you hit a large bump in the road they take the impact well, but upon the coilover recovering it seems to leave an element of bounce where as some coilover in the past have been less agressive and seem to control the bounce better.

Hmm! how would i go about using the original top mounts? (mine is a wrx not sti) as the top mounts on the coilovers are also the spring seat? have you got any pictures?

handling is ok (bit harder than standard) ride comfort is ok!, but mine rattle unbearably on the back and a little bit on the front, i might sell them and go back to standard.
i also have some slightly rattly HKS Hipermax RS coilovers, they handle amazing but i found them too hard for every day driving!

Its is just that, if you have the funds then buy a branded version, but if you were like me at the time, having an engine replaced and uprating quite a lot of other things, then I could not justify spending a grand on some branded ones. The Racelands on mine are not as Lief desrcibes, but they are not quiet by no standards, but having said that im yet to ride in a car that has no noise
Not True, if they were cheap and nasty they would have been destroyed at Grudgement but they took it considering my set up is far from right at the moment.The quality of the product is good, and in regards to some people saying "last thing you want it them snapping" well I hit a large bump the other day that launched my car up in the air and severly buckeld my whee and knocked the tracking outl, fortunatly no damage to the coilover
Conclusion - For £300 they are spot on, if you have high expectations then keep away, but if you want to lower the car, and/or make the ride stiffer then happy days. If you serious about competition then save up and get some Branded ones.
