I emailed them mate the other day and they don't do them for classics
I'm still going to watch this though as i hope they do the job for UK300 Prodrive as he has made the effort to buy and post his findings.
They do look quality in the pictures aswell!

Hello guys, Im not 100% sure of the fitments for a Classic, maybe the struts bolting fitment is different?!?!
Lets se how we get on with the newage cars including my own, and then if all the feedback is good we can make a confident effort to get them to offer the same deal for the Classic fitment if there is enough interest.

I cannot see how the PCD has a part to play in the fitment of these?!?! I could be wrong though....

PCD's = all WRX's including the Hawkeye is 5x100
STI upto the late Blob are also the same 5 x 100, but at some point during the late production of the blob they went 5 x 114.3. The Hawkeye STI is certainly 114.3!

I would imagine these will fir the newage cars, so that would be late 2000/1 bugeye WRX and STI right through to the late 2007 Hawkeye STI.

The PCD changed as the hub changed, which has different (thicker iirc) mounting point for the strut. So a newage 5x100 strut will not fit a 5x114 car.

So for newage cars you have two kits:
01-07 WRX and 01-05 STI or
05-07 STi

Tony.

Hi Guys,

My username has changed from UK300 PRODRIVE to my current as I no longer own a UK300... So dont be alarmed to see thats its me whom leaves feedback lol.

Im expecting my car back next week (fingers crossed), so one of the first jobs will be the Coilover install along with the geometry setup.

Update:

My Car is back on the road
Thanks to Brian at CAMS in Lower Darwen

Anyway as the kids are yet again on holiday (half term) its looking like the first available free time to get these fitted and setup is going to be week commencing 28th Feb

So until then Im afraid there isnt much of an update, I will however get the car valeted and looking good for some picture uploads to give you an idea of the stance and ride heights before and after.

As for handling im sure we can find some guinea pigs to take it out seriosuly though, Im hoping to enter SSO in May if the car is finished by then, and this will mean pushing the Raceland coilovers hard, should be interesting

will be interested to know the ride/handling quality with these, if they will fit a classic that is found this
http://www.type-ra.co.uk/vB/showthread.php?p=59667
so if they get the thumbs up from you i might just risk buying them and trying them on a classic.

Hey Rodney, The box there in appears to be holding up very well, although it is fading slightly

On a serious note; the car is due to go to the garage this week where it will be transformed with quite a bit of work, this is one of the jobs they will be undertaking.

Quite few members on here have asked for the promo code though so it might be that someone on this thread has already bought some and fitted them who can comment ?!?!?!?

Rob

PS if they are fitted this week / next week I shall leave extensive feedback

I was seriously considering buying a set of these for my classic but was also told that they didnt do them for classic.

I've currently got D2's but looking at getting some new ones to free up some money and for ease of adjustment (as D2's are couple years old) In the pics they look exactly the same, even the top mounts look the same.

Was wandering if anyone could possibly get some measurements of them for me? Just to compare them to my coilovers?

Update:
Ok my car went to the garage Friday for all the work doing including the remap

I called in to see how they were getting on today with some more parts from Carl Davey . They are mowed out at the moment so they are running a little behind, but it does look like it could be ready this week.

So I should be seeing the Racelend coilovers installed and set up with my 18" Dare drift Anthracite by the end of the week, The car should hopefully be running somewhere close to 400bhp powered by a GT30 which will no doubt be maxing out my injectors and TMIC. I have bought some 740cc that I will install when I saved for a good FMIC and remap

I was hoping to get the car pushed hard into some twisty bends and attempt to score the car on its handling Vs the Coilover set up, however becuase I fitted the CAI and Fog Feed myself in preparation to the rest of the work being carried out this week, I didnt want to drive the car on boost until is was mapped..... so it was a bit of an error on my part

Anyway Im sure come next week I can make a verdict on the Coilovers, and if the car is ready I shall be entering Grudgment and SSO so we'll see just what they are about

Rob

PS - Tom sorry I cant answer your question, but if you do a search on here you may find your answers

Guys the front top mounts on newage upto 03 maybe later will fit the classic its just the rears which differ. I have read that some people just change the rears for classic mounts on other brands.

My car is back at last

The 20+ mile drive back from the garage was entertaining

Although I have only driven the car home, and had the odd blip, getting use the car now begins, but from in the install to being on the road, they appear to be value for money. I shall comment further when I get chance to get out in it over the weekend.

The promotional code is still available guys, and Im aware that you are still wanting some feedback prior to making a decision to buy or not, so please bare with me.

Its been a long journey for me too with the car now running close to 400bhp with still a few teething issues to resolve. I was going to enter the Grudgement in a weeks time, but as my Db will be whey too loud I may need to just spectate on this one

Ok Guys here goes on my verdict...

From ordering with Mike at Raceland the service has been Superb . I had an issue with one Shocker, however I emailed them direct a couple of times with the symptoms and they sent me another one out with me needing to return the one that failing a little, full tracking details too

So the ordering out of the way.... Installation according to the Garage that fitted mine was same as any others bar the set up isn’t "set up" and all the top mount nuts were loose, so you will need to set all there up yourself, but its no Biggy, just something the garage pointed out. So installation bar the failing unit was very good, and even with me running with the failing shock its absolutely fine (I'm just avoiding going air-borne). The replacement will be going on later this week or maybe next week...

The drive is very good; I was surprised the steering is much crisper and much more planted. My set up is sat quite low, but even with 4 people in today it was fine (I avoided speed humps). However I’m normally a passenger-less driver so it doesn’t bother me the car being sat low, I manage to **** the odd wheel when cornering at reasonable speed which is a good feel prior drift lol.

With the Raceland’s for me compared with the Standard STI Shocks and springs it’s a definite must, I mean for the price you can’t go wrong. If you are considering these for general road use then your in for a treat with these, they are very good, and on budget price I would say they are not quite up there with top spec Coilovers, but they certainly rant poor, nor do they offer poor feel to drive, or even look at if that’s your thing.

Mine will see some track days, and as such have only seen 1 Grudgement day where my Under steered badly, but this isn’t down to the Raceland’s in imho unless I’m in denial. I was running with Eagle F1 Tyres and standard Anti rolls etc.... no after market braces etc. I will be entering SSO May 22nd, but this time with H Brace, Strut Brace, and hopefully some white lines if I get chance with some better front tyres... So we can see from there what happens, I mean I didn’t expect to add some Coilovers to a full fat car with 400bhp and expect good times, but I was surprised to see so much under steer!!!

Hope this helps a little with my verdict; obviously my set-up is still an ongoing project...

I must add though, that a guy who has also bought a set via this thread has some knocking issues with his rear coils, and as such has tried his STI top mounts to see if this helps. I will ask him for his verdict and to post on here if he doesn’t mind too

Mine is 3 mins into this clip

40 Seconds into this clip

Regards,
Rob
