I have to read. I can lay awake for an hour and not go off, read for 5 minutes and I'm facepalming the book

I don't struggle to fall asleep, I struggle to "stay" asleep. If I wake up after 5am I really struggle to go back off.

This could be true for me !
I was still up and watching the telly at 3:30 had to be up by 7:30
Feel fine though....

It sometimes feels that my mind forgets how to go to sleep and then i get really stressed, sometime I will see the sun come up and then fall asleep around 7am ... lucky for me I can work as and when.

Cant believe we are on the second page and no one has mentioned having a **** before bed

I have had a problem sleeping for the last 8 years or so......and can honestly say the only thing that ever worked for me was diazepam.

Which is extreme but was going up to 3 nights in a row without sleep at the time. It is now not as bad but still have to take sleeping tablets. I do run own business and have a physical job but it makes no difference as am not stressed and always tired in evening....untill the point i need to sleep.

I spoke to someone the other day who can count to ten and litterally fall asleep for 8 hours !!!!!

Wishfull thinking on my part i reckon....

I find that if I read a book for a while in bed that I can get to sleep easily enough.

going to sleep isn't the problem for me, being able to get to bed is, looking after a disabled girlfriend, her kids, the dogs and the house keep me busy until after midnight most nights and then I get my "dinner", sometimes it's well after 1am before I get to bed or even 2am. I must stop doing so much for everybody else but I'm too nice
