I like the Terzo but I dont think advertising it as having done 33k is right

I have my alfa for sale and that engine (brand new) has only done 33k but the car has done 72k
I advertised it as having done 72k

I think hes put 33k to justify the asking price

I wouldnt pay that, id rather pay half that for a year 2000 with 100k on it

But was the engine new when it was changed, or was the guy told that 'it has only done 33k honest!'.
Interior is correct for 1998 v4 model.
I don't bother looking at any car where the advert does not state the mileage, especially on an impreza.
The seller, obviously has something to hide. AVOID

Unless you've got money for a rebuild, I'd avoid a P1 mate!

you've just answered your own question mate - they are prone to going pop, due to the c**p MAFS mainly - Just a bad year for Subaru reliability.

Just fit a ks3 and away you go
The P1 isnt a bad car, it was a culmination of several factors that caused the engine failures, maf sensors for the MY99/00 cars are fragile and they updated them in 2005 from what those in the know have said, to the green stripe ones, oil pumps and bad fuel are also killers as the P1 runs a JDM map for 100 ron fuel with a little more knock correction over the version5 and 6 STI's, this didnt help, so get the car remapped for 97 ron fuel also and they are very safe then

I really like P1's but I wouldn't have one thrown at me for all the reasons you've just pointed out!

Didn't think that would hang around. Probably the best UK car available on Pistonheads right now.

There are more than enough version 5/6 STI's out there that have been mapped for 97 ron fuel that have decent mileage on them, these are the same engines as the P1, even the humble UK turbo will go pop due to a maf sensor, if you take precautions then your going to be ok with a P1, its when you modify them or run them with induction kits that alot went bang (most before the new maf came out), so you can happily run one as long as you can get insured.
Just find out who carried out the rebuild on that P1 and check for rust around the rear arches and the front windscreen (mainly the top) as all classics suffer from this at some stage

Tony

PS, I run a version 5 STI type R as well as an MY03 STI Spec C so know how interesting it can be if your worried about the engines going pop, hence I have a KS3 fitted to my type R

That's reassuring that somebody else agrees that this is definitely worth picking up!

As for the Tezo - if I were travelling from Germany I wouldn't risk coming away empty handed with that. Its not standard, its one of the least wanted limited editions - the total mileage has been omitted on purpose and its very dirty inside - plus as noticed above, its got a tag on the key ala' trader trrying to knock out an unwanted trade-in.

This would be my choice of what is on offer at the moment.

Good advert, low miles, low owners. Only thing I don't like is the tow bar.

I am really very tempted to buy it myself
