She's going in the booth for the first of 2 colour run's tomorrow[the shell that is],I decided on this for depth of colour/shine and so any chips will not show due to having a double header of paint[Also its very hard to get all the little details spot on first time round when you have so many area's to content with, area's you only see clearly when it's had clear coat applied].
Pic's to follow guys

Here's a little sneak peak at the first colour run[not the final colour scheme though],can't show any more then this as after all it is Jon's car/thread.
I'm sure he will post a shed load more pic's which I've emailed to him after his return from his work trip.
Hope you like it

No doubt there ash,I've promised a show stopper and will deliver!!
There's a lot more work involved yet but its coming along a treat now, next step is to mount all the panels par the bumpers and paint as one given the choice of colour.
If the doors etc were to be painted off the car the colour would not a natural and progressive change when walking/looking around the car.

It looks outstanding already Jon,all the panels are coloured now mate so it will now have the clutch fitted next week while it hardens fully and then the final colour will applied.
The door shuts and the backs of the doors look superb as well, the final colour is a 2 stage affair and I'm sure it will blow you away
The wheels/lower arms will get done while its having the clutch done as well mate
You'll have pics of the car in the flatted primer stage and loads of the car as it stands now waiting for when you get back mate unless you want them now so you can have a look see while your over there?

Ryan, send some pics mate as I'm home over the weekend for 24 hours so I can scan through and post up some teasers. I can get the bulk of them on my USB Stick when I pick the car up

She might be getting the final coat of colour on the weekend, all depends on the mechanical side of the workshop because the clutch has now landed and I would prefer it to have that done first before final painting happens.

Like Ryan says, he's about to throw in my new exedy and flywheel and I'm away paragliding for a couple of weeks before another business trip so there's no rush - I'd rather he does one bit at a time and gets it spot-on.

From pics he sent me in Uganda it looks absolutely spot-on, the quality of the finish is impeccable, a real sheen to it and certainly no orange peel effect like from the factory - and this is only the basecoat, the final coat has yet to go on

Thanks boys,I've always let the work do the talking, but it has to be said if you think it looks good now the finish product will knock your socks off given the clear coat used for that run isn't the best I have for shine and finish
Also Jon's will also be getting a cut back and detail to give it that mirrored finish when final paint is applied!

Would go with your red theme nicely, worth a go you can always re-spray it black if you don't like it.
