My list is as follows:

1- Mini Cooper. ex Rover development car and very quick. Made me laugh each time I drove it.
2- Suzuki Alto! Don't laugh. I needed a runaround, and had a ZXR 750 at the same time
3- Golf GTI Mk2. Big bumpers etc etc. Lovely car, and a ZX-9R Kwak
4- Corrado G60 - Handled better than a Scoob, and also a 'Blade
5- MY94 UK Scoob turbo. Great car. Still got a Blade!
6- STI5 TypeR V-ltd. Awesome, apart from fuel costs! and the Blade would eat it for Brekkie!
7- Audi A3 TDI Sport. Had it 4 weeks! No bike as I wrote it off!
8- BMW 330D Sport. Soooooperb all rounder. Love it! Also got an Aprilia RSV Mille R. Boombastic

Not bad in 10 years of motoring.

OK, here goes, list of cars owned in my eleven years of driving.

Owned back in Australia...

1. '74 Mini (all 1000cc of it, what a laugh and dad still uses it as a daily commuter to the train station).
2. '91 Hyundai Excel (also known as accent, very good value for money, crap resale)
3. '74 Holden Torana SL/R (3.3L straight six, pure muscle, one of my favourite cars).
4. '98 Hyundai Excel (I know, I should have learnt the first time ...)
5. '99 HSV XU8 (what a beast 300bhp 5.0L V8)

And then I moved to the UK.

6. '99 T Impreza turbo 5 door (no car has ever made me smile like the first drive in this one).
7. '99 T Impreza turbo 4 door (replacement for the 5 door, as I was worried about dodgy service history and it cost me less to change over than the cost of the upcoming service + new brake disk & pads + new tyres ...)

Andrew.

I have yet to own a car longer than 15 months, and I have owned the following vehicles (1st - date) -

1 Citroen AX GT (90 BHP with K&N filter, great and fast 1st car, grey! At 17 all my friends had Fiesta 950's and Metro's, I had a GT)

2 Peugeot 309 GTi (170 BHP, Serious engine mods - stage 2 head, chipped, exhaust etc, very fast and remarkable handling, metallic red)

3 Citroen AX GT (90 BHP with K&N filter, great and nippy 3rd car, red one this time! Fed up of the unreliability of Pug)

4 Peugeot 405 1.9 (125 BHP, bigger car required for lots of M-way travel! Gearbox broke though!)

5 Nissan Primera 2.0 Estate (130 BHP, Very practical, surprisingly good handling!)

5a Skoda Favorit 1.3 Forum (60 odd BHP, owned for 2 weeks as it was cheaper than hiring a car! Not bad really for a few pennies.)

6 Citroen Xsara 2.0 VTS (170 BHP, good car, excellent engine, handling good, ride - harsh, lots of toys - under-rated!)

7 Subaru Impreza WRX (260 BHP, nice car shame about the interior - I have no bright button!)

All the cars had there ups and downs, the 309 was the fastest car I had owned pre-scoob and everything else seemed slow in comparision, shame it went bang!

Also have an ongoing relationship (Kinda Company Vehicles at my dissposal) with a 00V transit (slow does not begin to describe it!)and a Peugeot 306 1.8 GLX (quite handy for a regular car, crazy roundabout moves often achieved, It slides nicely!).

JayRaj,

The Rover 220 Coupe turbo was a bit of a hand full, especially in the wet!

After having had 2 4 wheel drive cars previous to the Rover it took some getting use to..

It certainly wasn't the best handling car in to world and certainly not the most mechanically sound car either!

The head gaskets are very prone to going.
I had 4 of these replaced in 100K miles.

I would not recommend getting one of these cars.

Tell him to get a Scooby instead - he won't regret it.

What was modded with the Lancia Delta HF4WD? As standard they have 165bhp. 250bhp is quite an increase...

27, driving 9 years...

UK:

F plate Fiat Uno 60S 1.1 3 door (used)
R plate Fiat Punto 80ELX 1.2 16v (from new)
P plate Fiat Coupe 20v turbo (used)
S plate Impreza turbo wagon (used)

USA:

1995 Honda Accord
1996 Ford Taurus (3.0 litres of absolute sh'te)
1996 Toyota Camry
1996 Ford Mustang (5.0 litres of the same thing they put in the Taurus)

Why so many USA 96 models? I was on a long term lease thing where I could chop the car when I wanted, so I went through a few... they were all supposed to be 4 door models, but I managed to slip a Mustang in there, realised it was bolux and swapped it out again.

simon,

I see you have owned both a Fiat Coupe 20 Valve Turbo and an Impreza Turbo so which one do you honestly think is the better car?? The reason I ask is I was very close to buying a Fiat Coupe instead of the Impreza but experience of dealers when buying my girlfriends Punto put me off Fiats for life.

Andrew,

I bought the Lancia second hand at 6 months old. The previous owner had the mods done, including conversion to right hand drive, adjustable konis all round, full body kit. They cost him over £6000, I think! So I don't know exactly what was done to the engine to bring it up to 250 bhp. All the work was carried out by a tuner near Reading (?) - Mike Spence, IIRC. I did not have it long enough to put on a rolling road, as I sold it with a few months. I suspect the power was much more like 200 bhp. My previous car had 286 bhp, and the Lancia seemed to lack more than 36 horses. But it could go round corners at alarming speeds.
