Lol @ frayz
[QUOTE=Jolly Green Monster;9828472]I had to delay posting pic of intercooler as on its own it asked more questions than it answered.
Lol @ frayz[/QUOTE
It had my brain all a muddle before seeing the engine pics.

to make the most of the core.. I actually think it will probably struggle when power gets up there but it should be a neat install and can be uprated further in future.Simon
Saw this and thought you might like to see it.

side impact is the impreza's weak point imho, and to run fibreglass doors on a 2door I wanted to make sure it was strong for any side impact etc.. I hope to never test it.
I'd be annoyed if it wasn't running in time for scoobyshootout

I have a car with a fairly intrusive bolt in cage at the moment and I am often in and out of cars with full cage (rally cars etc), so I would hope it wouldn't be too much of a problem.
If it is then first port of call will be a quick release steering wheel, then if I am still finding it annoying the bar that crosses from top of A pillar to cross bar will get adapted or removed.
The whole car is being build with no compromise - no heater, plastic windows, fibreglass doors, etc etc.. if I have to go back and put stuff in or take stuff out then so be it. The cage has been built to msa rules from chromoly and no compromise on strength taken, my main concern is side impact or rolling, which I think is covered here lol.
tbh I don't care what I look like getting in and out, if the worst happens I hope I can at least get out, even if it is dragged by the back of my neck rather than trapped in a squashed wreck.
I think anyone running power over 500 and doing track / drag / sprint events is stupid not to have a cage, I hope to be running considerably more than 500 hence I have gone overboard on the cage.

People have suggested it will be difficult to get in and out so I had a test

Spent couple of hours on it today, mainly admiring the cage to be honest, removed pitch stop

The cage

Was wondering why the intercooler had two extra inlets and outlets, going to be mental when it's done. All the best.
