The only moan I have so far is the poor sound in multiplayer, even with my turtlebeaches gunfire and footsteps are almost silent. Ninja was a must in all my classes in mw2 but it is pointless in black ops.

 

albeit the game is quieter than MW2, I think its more realistic

... cant imagine the SAS walking around clumping their feet etc

 

Other forums think the foot steps are louder on black ops! I've never used turtle beach headsets anyway.

Just got hacker pro, looking forward to trying to hack the other teams sentry guns!

 

My copy was delivered today, only played a bit of the campaign so far, as i suspected this series has run its course IMHO.

Just wait until they start bringing out a new COD every year, COD 2012, COD 2013 etc etc.

Its just the same old COD with a new bit of tinsel wrapped around it, will crack on with a bit of multiplayer tonight, i suspect i will keep a hold of the game to play with my mates, until they announce the first map pack, then i will flog it on.

 

Feels like it's almost 2 a year? Infinity Ward release a decent CoD game, Treyarch release their effort, IW release a worse single player experience but better online game, Treyarch release their effort... etc etc

 

jot it today for the pc, so far it is good, i like havein the leening back again

had a go at the single player mode, but it crashed when loading up

online is ok, but get times when it just freezes.

maybe i need to up grade my pc

That's exactly what I've been trying to tell my bloody clan. The gameplay looks like a cartoon. You don't get the gratifying visuals when killing someone as you did in MW2.

However, the only reasons I'll stay on this instead of MW2 are: dedicated servers and less cheaters.

P.S The jumping prone is crap, as you get shot due to the long time you're airborn.

 

Theres a lot of people having problems with the PC version it's all over the web, thankfully i have an xbox and it's running better than MW2 ever did

 

i have just up dated my graphics drivers (have been fine for all other games) and it didnt crash this time, but did go slow every now and then.

Got it on a new 360 and not sure as yet, have one major concern with the level of online support and connectivity, always dropping out and takes for ever to get into a game when in a party of two or more, single is ok but as soon as we try and party up it loads out and if it does connect at the last minute everyone but the host gets kicked.

Anyone else getting similar issues?

 

Righty, saw my mate playing so I joined his game, it turned out to be a hardcore match which he claimed I should not be able to play as I was rank one?

Played anyway, 16 kills and 6 deaths, lmfao how pissed off was everybody in that lobby!

I came top completely baffled at the maps and pressing rightbumper for knife attacks a la Bad Company 2.


Some thoughts now I am rank 10, the graphics are ****, the voice acting is ****, its a quick copy and paste of previous games, but with less style and Polish.

I have a open nat on 50mb took a party of five this evening 30mins to get in!

 

But did everybody else have an open NAT ?

Usually find that somebody does not and it buggers everything up, same thing happens to us SN lot when we were trying to do the epic SN Forza races

I had a party of 3 last night and we were fine, maybe it was a fluke.

 

Doesn't compare to MW2 for me, but is still a good multiplayer game. The campaign is good too.

If this has disappointed a lot of people who prefer MW2, it gives them another great build-up to the release of MW3. To be honest I think some people (including me) have played and enjoyed MW2 so much that any departure from a carbon copy of it is going to be difficult to judge. Even the map packs on MW2 were excellent IMO, whereas on Black Ops they seem a bit half arsed. Only a few maps I like.

 

From a campaign perspective I like it (better than WaW imo).... not long enough, but it's still a very good game.

 

I hate the voting level system, played nuketown about 15 pissing times last night.

well i finished the single player last night and went back to the multiplayer, i actually had to turn it off as it really does not seem very fair. i couldn't kill anyone unless i was behind them then they would spawn behind me and get me straight away. then on another level my team got stuck in the spawn and even the other team were spawning with us, we had no chance and ended up with a score of 2100.

the one last thing i've noticed is that if you get a decent run of kills, the game seems to make it harder for you to kill the other team, ie twice as many bullets to kill someone.

 

Got about 7hrs logged on MP now, my current moans are:

• Feels so much slower than MW2, Marathon feels like normal on MW2
• Sound is rubbish, can't even hear an enemy chopper overhead
• Graphics are worse, more difficult to pick out the campers across a map
• People are still obsessed with K/D so rather than exploring the new maps sit ADS in doorways for the entire match
• RC Cars are too easy to get (2 kills with HL) and are bloody annoying
• Commando still exists
• Spawns are rubbish and too easy to get spawn trapped
• Claymores / C4 take too long to use
• Gun recoil is inconsistent, Case In Point FAMAS
• Connection is King more than ever before, don't bother trying to play against Yanks etc..
• Getting into Pre-game lobbies with Party is hit & miss

The worst one for me is connection as it makes such a difference.
Had 1 game where I ran around and went 25/5.
Change of hosts in the next game and I was 2/11 at one point before reigning in my usual style and finished 10/14
For 5 games after that I couldn't find a local host and had bad -k/d ratios

I like the customisation and maps but am struggling to like this game as much as I did MW2....

 

i've just played it some more and am resigned to the fact that its going to be traded in for gt5, can't be arsed to wait months for them to try and fix it. i will go back to mw2.

 

I echo the sentiments of people on here. The game is definately not better than MW2 in terms of multiplayer gameplay. It is only natural that this game will be benchmarked against its predecessor and unfortunately it doesn't live up to it older brother.

I will however stick with this one, due to the dedicated servers, which equals less cheaters. There's just no gratification when you shoot your enemies in this instalment.

 

I just found a COD Black Ops Dog Tag looking thing on the pavement, have I found Geek Gold? Do I put it on eBay?

 

Tried to play some COD 2 this morning, only 1 other person online

Tried COD 4 and it had about 5k!

 

Really need to avoid this game when I've had a few drinks, the playstation was close to getting smashed off a wall last night. The close spawning in this game does my head in - the way you seem to repeatedly get spawned right next to about 4 enemy players. MW2 all the way for me!

 

At least you could login, I kept getting 8002ad23 code.

I'd login then be kicked out within 5 minutes !!! Even tried MW2 and the same was happening.

Bleeding useless PSN !!!!!!!!!!!
