hope you dont considerer the deal i really thought about doing with you as a joke! this is a lot of car for the money but in the end i wanted something a bit more low key as im a dad now so the s3 was replaced with a v8 m5. as stated the jdm's are hard to find at mo and the mileage really shouldnt put people off. i have had lots of high milers and often find unless there really low miles you end up doing lots of maintenance around 80k anyhow so let someone else do it!

BTT!

Just to add my £0.02, i think it is certainly a balancing act, the price has to reflect the overall condition of the car, mileage included.

I think £7750 is a very fair price taking into account the mileage, but it does carry a slightly higher risk than a car on 60k for example... but a car on 60k may be £10,000+ ...as you said its down to the prospective buyers budgets and expectations... and i would say its a risk worth taking bearing in mind the condition the car appears to be in.

My Black MY05 Blob with 60k will be going up for sale soon, just guess its down to finding the right buyer for the right car.

The Spec C version uses a VF36 turbo, only difference between them is the VF37 is a sleave bearing turbo, the VF36 is a roller bearing turbo. The VF37 is more robust and cheaper to replace, spool may be 200rpm quicker on the roller bearing VF36, but the VF37 is still very quick spooling compared to a single scroll unit on the UK car, with far more performance potential too.

333BHP/lbft is a very mild state of tune for one of these, mine is running circa 370BHP/390lbft with just an EcuTek remap, panel filter and exhaust.

To give you an idea of how quick these can be with very little mods/money spent, i'll compare performance of one of the best classics you can buy, my old STi5 TypeRA Ltd and my current MY05 JDM STi, both with the same levels of tune, being a remap, panel filter, walbro fuel pump and exhaust, both no other engine mods so running stock turbo's, injectors, ECU, intercooler etc. These are 4th gear figures using Delta Dash Road Dyno.

MY05 JDM STi MY99 STi5 RA Ltd

40-60MPH 2.1s 3.0s
60-80MPH 2.2s 2.4s
70-90MPH 2.5s 2.7s
BHP/Tonne at wheels 198 180
Distance travelled after 8 seconds 195metres 160metres

These new age cars may be quite lardy compared to the classic, but they make up for it with much better engines, especially the JDM's.
Excellent summary in a good post. JDM new age are indeed a whole heap of fun - my MY03 370/360 can prance like a classic Synergy, effortless, Tron-like, all come easily. Also easily it is the 'best' driving of all the many Impreza's owned. The engine's performance especially, as well as all the rest was nothing short of awesome - or awe striking. Everyone I took in that car commented. I'm looking for one now

The nicest & relaxed scoob ever though - my current middle-aging STi classic wagon

Nice looking car, but to be honest as said before regardless how cheap it is, the mileage puts alot of buyers off as it is a performance car,

i belive a a car like this with a high miles is a risk to buy , but you never know it might be a bargain to somone and car could do 200k without a fault lol.

my brother has recently bought a JDM 54reg blob eye sti from ebay for 7k , exactly like this car, mint condition with 360bhp all proved, imported 2008 only with 1 previouse owner, full service history, mileage is 44k only. so I guess your car is not a bargain really but good priced maybe for a rare JDM spec.

good luck with the sale anyway mate

Your brother bought a very cheap car there buddy. Did he forget to tell you it is a cat C, lol.

Bargain at 7K, I'm afraid this one won't be being sold at that price.

Had loads more interest on this but mostly from dreamers and people wanting to swap or trade cars against it. Drove it again today and can't believe I've still got it, drives really well. Lovely car in all honesty.

I'll soon be forced to keep it for myself..... Lol.

Am i missing something here Matty?

You seem to be refuring to the car as if your the new owner and bought it last month etc and the last owner was a mature guy? But it's a 1 owner? I'm confused.

If i was after another Scooby and had a budget of 7.5K i'd seriously consider this...if you are the owner of course! lol

I'm a trader and selling on behalf of a customer and friend of mine. He bought the car brand new in 2005, the car has been in my lockup for the last couple of months. It has not been registered in my name. It is a one mature owner car.

Nope still got it. Got so sick and tired of people offering me swaps etc for it, so I just removed the ad.

Next stop eBay I suppose.

All this hassle and I'm not even going to earn any money from the sale, well maybe a small drink but that's it.

£7300 will buy this car now. Offers will not be considered.

I'd offer you a swap with my Audi here ----> https://www.scoobynet.com/private-fo...-blob-sti.html but no doubt I'd get knocked back like the other swap offers

Your Audi is stunning. Really, very nice car indeed. But in my opinion is slightly overpriced at £7500. I understand the extras etc would of cost you an absolute fortune and completely understand that your car is going to be worth considerably more than any normal 2001 A4. But, 2006/7 and even 2008 A4's are available in that price bracket now. It would be very difficult for me to sell your car on when competing with cars of up to 7 years newer.
Thank you anyway and I wish you the best of luck with the sale. Hopefully your able to sell it then maybe we could put a deal together.

Thanks, Matt.

Thanks for the kind comments mate. I do agree with you, after looking around myself I feel that it is slightly over priced too, so I'm reviewing the price now. I will definately be in contact if I manage to sell it.

Cheers
