Plenty of good changes in it. Just takes a while to start to see the benefits of it.
Have a read through the OS thread on Crackberry for some pointers on what features there are.

I'm not gonna honestly call it any kind of ground breaking change, but the changes that are there are positive for sure. Well worth using IMO

strange one. facebook and twitter both now seem to be working. some sort of network problem perhaps. anyhoo both applications running sweet as a nut now. I am happy. I will have to do some digging just to see what differences there are in the new OS. i am being lazy here but does anyone have a link for a list of the changes?

Lol I would list them but I don't know them haha.
Webkit browser
Multiple home screens
Social feeds app (which you can't find lol)
Built in RRS feeds thingy
Redesigned camera interface
New menu interfaces
OS based memory management
Advanced contacts manager
Best thing to do is play about a bit.
After install it turns radio off, so you have to turn that back on.
3G seems more stable for me at the mo.
Battery usage not as good as it was, but I'm sure that's in the pipeline.
Make sure you look through what it's installing when you go thru install, as some of the features are optional, so check and uncheck at will.

I don't like the new OS6....
I like my old menu, the new one is hard to use where you have to flick through the menu screens on the home page.
Any way of changing this so the bb button brings up my usual menu?
I am going to run it for a few days and if I can't get used to it may revert back.

Thats the only bit thats taken some getting used to for me. Took a day or so. The fav's is self updating, which is handy too, changes with your usage.
As for the rest of it, menus, interfaces etc, love it personally. Not for everyone im sure though.

Thanks for that Snazy, just tried the double click and it works perfectly.
another feature I used to like is start typing the name you wanted to call and it would bring up the list.
Now it goes through this global search, which on my BB is quite slow. I also had a few error messages and the phone re-set itself automatically >?? - Although having just tried it just now, it did not crash!

With mine on, it comes up with all apps and contacts matching the search as you type.
I think that there are gonna be a few bugs, I have done quite regular reboots recently, while im adding and removing apps, so its remained quite stable.

The universal search is switched on at the moment, the more I use it the better it works, maybe it indexes in the background or something but its quicker now than when I originally typed my last comment.
Could you list the apps you have working on it at present?
Thanks for your help Snazy

It would make sense that it uses some form of cache memory, but also I have found that if you put in CH for chris for example, it takes a while, each extra letter used in the search narrows the field and speeds up the search, very handy all the same.
Apps I have at present and running fine are
Google Sync
Google Maps
Tube Map
Berry Weather
Berry Buzz
Twitter (and in social feeds)
Shazam
CaptureIt
Evening Standard
FourSquare
FlickR
Snaptu
Poynt

I use a few of those apps along with Tube Buddy which works well as well - good to know the others work as well.
Just shown it to a few colleagues and they are impressed with it

Glad its all working ok for you. You will get used to those menu screens, I have very quickly.
Have you tried the scrolling between messages too ? Open and email and scroll sideways to the next and previous

I'm getting used to it a bit more, not really using the favourites slider, just re-arranging my all folder and have set it to 2 lines so most of my daily apps are there when i need them.
If it wasn't for your testing i would have never upgraded, cheers Snazy!

I tend to use favourite and all, which ever is nearest really. Constantly noticing little changes.
Calendar icon shows today's date rather than 31 like it's always done before.
Photo management in media far nicer, and universal search works in there selecting a folder quickly
Camera is instant not, rather than the delay before, literally freezes whatever is in the view finder at that time.
Geotagging works, and is much easier than before, even naming the image with a geotag.
Month view on calendar far more detailed now, showing amount of day free.
Option menus within apps far more user friendly, and easier to work with, file transfers within BBM for example.
In call options simplified on screen now too .
It's definatly taken some getting used to, but it's becoming the norm already now lol
Let me know if you find any more stuff
I'm off to find more gesture controls lol
Best part for me is finding a picture for the home screen that fits perfectly. One I took at Mercedes Benz World of an SLR lol

Bump
Snazy, any further updates on OS 6.0?
I am loving the current release, it has some bugs and occassionally it reboots itself.
On the whole though, I am well impressed with it
