First, I don't think this is an extremist message, I just think he's extremely stupid to show his hand. Extreme implies it's leftfield and opposed to the consensus. Is it? How many Islamic ideologists harbour the same view but conceal it? Second, the more vocal and publicity seeking he is, the easier it is for MI5 to monitor him. If he's drawing the (less cerebral) enemy out from underneath their rocks, fantastic, much better than them being seduced by the sophisticated clerics lurking undetected.

Do you think there are neutral, passive Muslims who will be drawn to ideological activism because this clown's giving it the big one? I should imagine that those susceptible will have already been quietly groomed by members of their community.

Yes I think he's an extremist even if he doesn't not openly call for violence. His political views are intractable and cannot be incorporated within the existing political system.

I think his movement needs to be able to preach to recruit. He mixes lies with truth like any good propagandist, and in the absence of such 'advertisement' I don't think any young people can be drawn to his message.

At the firm where I work it seems to be frowned upon to wear a poppy since some of the pakistani employees made a formal complain about the wearing of poppies 'glorifying the killing of their muslim brothers and sisters' in Iraq or whatever, but we're still allowed to wear them if we want to.

We now celebrate eid in our offices now too , however on the plus side it does mean free cakes

 

this is the stuff that pi55e5 me right off, your in our country, respect our rules or **** off.


I would wear a poppy and to hell with the consequences, hr couldnt kick off that much!


Complain that eid offends you and you want the office based celebrations banned, see if it does, i bet it doesnt, racism only works if your not white

 

Pisses me off too as I think most of it is BS frankly. I find it funny how I and millions of others with no agenda never seem to come across these Muslims makling official complaints about poppies or Christmas yet those with an agenda do.... makes you think really doesn't it?

 

I've a theory on this....

People at work actively look for things to complain about because they know that regardless of how stupid their comments are they'll likely receive some form of action.

 

This is what I am on about with the extremist message running deep not just a few nutters. The above statement from the Pakistani employees is the same demagoguery spouted by the extremists...it's a warped narrative, which unfortunately seems to be accepted.

 

I'm not being funny here, but I have never come across anything like this and I work for about nine different companies. Most have dealings with Pakistani people at some point in the week.
I wear a cross, proudly and this has never been commented on or even frowned on. All of the companies employees wear their poppies with pride and again, this has never been mentioned at all by the Pakinstani employees or visitors.

 

But I thought Poppy Day / Rememberance Sunday was to remember those who fought and fell in the 2 World Wars and nothing to do with the smelly ***** getting killed in Iraq or wherever????

I'm not saying all people make up stories but I look at these tales with a little caution.

At my work, we had two Muslims start, before they even did their first shift, people were up in arms about 'them' being allowed to pray during working hours. They were just assuming as they hadn't even started yet. I'm not sure whether they do (they both only do 5 hour shifts, so not sure of how many times they'd need to pray if they do at all) but as this has never been mention again, I assume it didn't become a big problem. What I did ask the complainers straight away was what would be the problem so long as it was done during break time? No answer to that other than to still claim it's not right. It's ok for a person with more or less the same break entitlement to split theirs in two because they smoke, but it's not ok for someone to possibly use theirs to pray.

There was another a few years back, and people around Christmas time were moaning about feeling awkward sending Christmas cards because it might offend and they shouldn't be made to feel that way. He even sent them all cards anyway, so obviously more of a problem to my white collegues than him.

I have no time for people not willing to integrate within society, or the extremists out there, but I think we need to get a grip a little. Alot of what we hear are non stories put out there to stir up more hatred. And the overly PC brigade cause as many problems as they try to solve.
