I was genuinely interested in what the price difference between your current and next supercars was, David. Zip decided to reply on your behalf so I responded in kind

It's interesting to discuss that's all as cars of this ilk are a million miles away for me (currently). I apologise if this has offended you in any way.

Then I think I'd probably go mental and drive to France for a few days while said Mrs calms down

You should always have the car/thing of your dreams if its within your limmits IMO
A bloke i know always wanted to be morgage free, worked all the hours god sent, last year paid the morgage off, months later was told he has cancer probably has a year to live, same bloke hasent had much of a life , holidays ,nice cars, much of a social life,
life IS to short , live it do what makes you happy whatever that may be

Oh so you are the sner that Zippy was talking about! Nice car, shame about the dodgy decals![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Your car costs make me cry. My M5 has cost me £10k a year just in depreciation alone, fuel bills have been as high as £3k a year and insurance £900/year.![Cry2](images/smilies/cry2.gif)
I wonder why I do it sometimes. A car that costs me £15k a year to run means I have to earn over £23k of income gross to pay for it. That's a lot of money. I wish I could shake this fast car hobby, I'd be a lot richer!

<smug mode> My 997S has gained about £2-3K in value in the last 12 months </smug> This year, its probably cost me about £3k to run it, including fuel, insurance, warranty, etc etc etc. Helps that depreciation is a +ve rather than a -ve though!

I was thinking the same thing. Did you buy it at a reduced rate in the first place?
A mate of mine bought a 18 month old 997 turbo when the financial situation was at its worst, after Lehmans collapsed etc. It was from a Porsche dealer and even a year after that when I was looking they were a bit more expensive than he paid for it. but as I said he bought it at the very worst of the downturn
